O'Connor Road Animal Hospitalsmwilson521 rated

This is the first time I've felt compelled to review a practice, but I just really wanted to express my gratitude to everyone there at O'Connor Road Animal Hospital. My family and I have been taking our dogs to this particular practice for the past four years and have had no...morething but good experiences and excellent care. My particular history with them involves our two current Australian Shepherds, Helo and Maia, who have been seeing Dr. Zengler (and formerly Dr. Quirk :) ) since they were puppies. We have had a very interesting couple of years. Basic wellness care, vaccinations, and spay and neutering services were all handled wonderfully- but when Maia, then two-years-old, started having trouble getting up, I knew something was wrong. After ruling out hip dysplasia with x-rays and trying various other pain management treatments, Dr. Quirk referred us out to VREC for a consultation, and I found out Maia had torn her back ACL. The surgery was going to cost me an arm and a leg, and at VREC they wanted it all up front, but at two I was unwilling to put her down. She's my baby. It seemed unthinkable, but there was no way I could afford the entire thing all at once. I called O'Connor Road, and sure enough they had a doctor who could come in and do the needed surgery there, and they were able to work out a feasible payment plan with me. The surgery went well, the follow up care was amazing with the entire crew there (staff, techs, vets :) ), and Maia is now back to running around with her brother, currently on a mission to shed some pounds, and finally learning to catch a frisbee! During the entire ordeal I know I was an emotional mess, but they helped me through and I am so incredibly grateful. I've never met the office staff, but I want to extend a huge thank you for the payment plan. You gave me the option to save my dog. I won't ever forget that. :) Dr. Zengler is my current vet. She is knowledgeable and kind and both of my dogs love her. All of the doctors I've met there have been very good though if we couldn't get in to see Dr. Zengler. I've always felt very secure knowing that my dogs would get excellent care at O'Connor Road. The staff is compassionate and helpful. It may take a few minutes to get through on the phones, but it is a very busy practice (which speaks volumes- so many people trust their pets to the doctors here) and it is well worth the wait. It's very easy to get appointments and refills on medications. Mostly, I just want to say thank you. This practice is amazing and I will continue to refer friends over. :) view less

Wag N Tails Pet Resortmfemea rated

I took my dog, Molly there. She is a rescue dog with special needs. She freaks out during vet visits. She shakes, she can't control her bowel movements. It is really hard to see her in this condition. She is a cocker spaniel that needs frequent grooming. I was trimming her m...moreyself, as she has extreme anxiety going to groomers. She has anti-anxiety medication, but I will not give it to her due to side effects. I saw this groomers (Wag-N-Tails) online. It had okay reviews so I decided to try. I needed her trimmed and her nails clipped. I called first. The lady that answered the phone was very nice and patient. She said they would take really good care of her and gave me an appointment. I showed up with Molly. Molly was a wreck! She was shaking horribly. It is so hard to see her like that, but I needed her nails trimmed and her hair cut. Molly was in my arms, shaking when I walked in. The lady at the counter greeted me and talked to Molly. She was so sweet. She called the groomer from the back (Sarah) and she came out. Sarah was so good with Molly. She petted her, she said what a beautiful dog she was, she reassured me everything would be fine, etc. I was very concerned that Molly would just be awful. Finally, after many reassurances from the lady at the front and Sarah, I let Molly go. Several hours later I got a call from the lady at the front counter. I immediately thought that Molly had been too hard to handle and they needed me to come her up. NO! The lady informed me that Molly had done GREAT and that she was ready to be picked up. Great?!?! I had NEVER heard those words about Molly from a groomer before. I went to pick her up. They brought her from the back and SHE LOOKED AWESOME!!! Her nails were trimmed, her hair cut was EXACTLY PERFECT!!! And the best part of all? Although that was a year ago, EVERY time I say to Molly, "Do you want to go see Sarah?" she wags her tail ready to go. She still HATES her vet, but I have found a groomer for LIFE!! Everyone there is so sweet. I was very nervous, and yet my experience was phenomenal!! And better then that, Molly had a great experience. In the end, if you are looking for a groomer who puts your dog's comfort above everything else, look no further! This place is exactly what you have been looking for! view less

Love this place!

After reading a few of the reviews I felt I was obligated to voice my own opinion on this clinic. I have been in there many times with my dogs and cat. The front staff is always very sweet and friendly. The techs were very caring and gentle with my pets, I've never felt t...morehey were unqualified. The prices are the usual for any vet clinic in town; unless your talking about the low cost clinics or shelter programs. I did my own price shopping before choosing this clinic. I have also noticed that they always seem to have kittens in there for adoption. One time I asked where they were coming from and the receptionists said they get them all the time, either dumped on their door step or clients find them. They take them in when they have room and care for them until they can adopt them out. They even fix them and give them shots before they go home with their new family! The receptionist even told me they have adopted out a few dogs that were abandoned there too; she did say that adopting dogs out was not the norm, but they try to help out when they can. I think that is amazing of them, because as a pet owner, I know how expensive the neutering and shots can be. The doctors are all fabulous and very knowledgable. They have a new vet, a male, Dr. Philips; he is so nice and informative! The other two are females and very nice too. I haven't seen Dr. Vargo yet, but I've seen her with other people and she seems very caring and excited about her job. Dr. Byrd has been there since I started coming and she is great. I love my visits to this clinic, it's always a good experience. view less
