I ordered an ice cream cake for a birthday celebration and it was pretty good. There were lots of compliments from the guests. The customer service was nice as well. I ordered on a Friday and needed the cake Monday. They called me on Saturday to make sure they had all the info they needed to make my cake special. The only thing is, I wish they had given me instructions. That may sound silly, but the shop is about 10 minutes from my office where the cake was to be served. I thought the 10 min drive and walk to my building would be plenty of time for the ice cream to soften up a bit for cutting. It was very tough to cut because it was still so frozen...we even used a knife dipped in warm water. I think they should let folks know to let it sit out a bit before cutting into the cakes. Other than that, it was a great experience.
The food is mediocre and overpriced. I probably wouldn't recommend it if you just want dinner. However, as for the cheesecake, I believe it is worth the hefty price only if you want a plethora of cheesecakes to choose from. The actual cheesecake itself is good, but you could probably do better for a better price anywhere else. Cheesecake factory is good only for the huge selection, not necessarily the flavour.
We have been regulars at Sam's since this place opened. Home made ice cream and great service. My favorites are chocolate chip mint and maple walnut ice cream on a sugar cone. Husband loves his cake batter milk shake and daughter is eating her way through all the flavors. Happy to have found a local small business that takes pride in their product. Sam's is also military owned and we gladly support our troops!
