I am new to the San Antonio area and spent a few weeks checking out the local yoga studios. As soon as I found the Synergy studio I knew that I was home. I tried a bunch of classes using their free first week promotion, and fell in love with the beautiful building, and the variety of classes. I found not only peaceful and relaxing yoga in the yoga for lunch classes but a high powered, upbeat power vinyassa class in the Yoga for athletes class! What a blast!

I attended a few classes about 3 months ago and was so disappointed. I tried more than one instructor in hopes that I could find a good one. The red headed instructor at the lunch hour is overweight and does not seem to be a real yoga practitioner. The hot bhodi instructor (Trish?) needed to be the center of attention and the class was dull. Another one was a little better but she had the voice of a five year old. The classes seem to be geared towards beginners only.

The Synergy studio is tucked away in the coolest reclaimed area in San Antonio, the old Pearl Brewery. It's like discovering something that was right in front of you the whole time!
But the Yoga....great class times, Yoga at Sunrise, Yoga for Lunch, and lots of styles of yoga including Hot Bodhi yoga, Hatha, Iyengar, and Yoga Nidra,Integrative Restoration meditation classes.
The teachers are all friendly and well trained, lots of smiles,( they remember names! ) and there are lots of them!
The place is warm and friendly......even warmer on the Hot Bodhi Yoga nights!
Nice people, great tea, energetic location

Having practiced yoga for 25 years I have visited many yoga studios. Synergy was the biggest disappointment. It is probably the second worst studio I have visited. I went twice and both times the quality of the teachers was poor. This is the first bad review I have ever written.

Synergy is a wonderful, clean, easy to get to facility with friendly knowledgeable staff. Esther Vexler is an inspiration to all who attend her class. This petite, energetic 91 year old lady can not only teach us but can still practice Yoga. I hope my body and mind are as flexible and sharp when and if I live to see 91. Thank you Esther.
Be sure to visit The Synergy Studio. Its an amazing place with a wonderful community of people. So welcoming and friendly... and they offer a WIDE variety of classes... Nia, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dance, African Dance, Tai Chi, Qigong, and HoopDance. :) There is also a wonderful massage therapist in the studio, as well as a Rolfer. Reiki is also offered. Yep... its unlike anyplace in San Antonio and its very convenient from all parts of the city.
They stress 'community' and I really feel it there.... no judgement, just fun and friendship.
Don't hesitate... they have a class for everyBody.

The Synergy Studio is an amazing place. The energy of the entire 6000 plus square feet is positive, welcoming, calming, and energizing... I have found my home. Offering sooo many classes for adults, for 'everyBody,' the studio has something for everyone. During my free week (they offer a free week to anyone living in the greater San Antonio area) I took Nia, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dance and African Dance! Wow... they all blew me away. What fun! The studio has 15 Nia classes a week, and I took one from every teacher. They are top-notch professionals. I travel all over the country, and this studio, and the teachers, are not to be missed. What a special surprise in a really cool, cutting edge part of northern downtown! The studio is located in The Pearl Development off Broadway, at 300 East Grayson (the address listed is wrong... they moved last year) The development is sooo cool, with great restaurants, living spaces, and lots more to come. I loved the studio's advertising as 'Under the Big Beer Can"" and they are! Look up! I could go on and on, but you must experience it for yourself! Hats off to the vision of the owner... you won't believe your eyes, and your body will love you for going. :)
