I had made reservations there, but when I arrived I had second thoughts. There are vacant buildings around the motel and some of the guests checking in gave me pause. The clerk assured me the area was safe and quiet. About 4 hours after check in the police dept. sent 5 of their cars with bright red and blue lights to the parking lot. Since the clerk said they never have trouble there I assumed the cops were just hanging out with their guns drawn.
I spent much of the night listening to someone bounce something that sounded like a bowling ball on the floor above me. At 4:30 AM some landscaper- looking- people found it necessary to overhaul their antique truck's engine right outside my door.
The next day there was an Asian clerk who I could not communicate with. Probably a good thing for him.
Other than that one overnight night stay, I only used the place for the shower and slept on a waiting room couch at the hospital my husband had been admitted to. It was quiet there.
The positive: the room was clean. I could tell because there was hardly any furniture, or a closet. It was cheap, but not cheap enough considering I couldn't sleep there.
Spring break weekend. Arrived at 7pm when check in is at 3pm. There was no one at the desk. finally about ten minutes, Monica shows up. She takes my info and gets on her cell and work phone. Apparently shes looking for manager or higher up. she leaves a message in spanish,maybe assuming i dont know the language but i understand perfectly clear. SHe states she needs a call back because none of the rooms that are needed are clean. More people start to arrive and she doesn't acknowledge them. finally gets call back and she says "can u call jennifer, none of the f@#$%g rooms are clean". we all just stared at each other. After several back and forth calls, she finally tries to tell me gracefully that they are having problems with housekeeping. Really? i had no idea. anywho, at this time 2 men come in to complain that their keys aren't working. I asked if she could transfer reservation to motel 6 down the street and she said she could no do it but would try to get number. As shes doing so she gets a phone call and forgets all about the transfer. i ask to cancel reservation and asks if i would like to wait for someone to clean room. NO, check in is at 3, they should have been ready. its not her fault poor girl, but she didn't have to use profanity in front of everyone. i like motel 6 but this studio 6 was horrible. never again.
