Wonderful food,atmosphere and sevice!!!! A variety of foods to please everyone. A great place to gather with friends and family. Private rooms for special occasions or whatever the event,even a play area for the kids! Not to mention live music on the weekends with the best margaritas in town!

Great Experience at Scenic Loop!

A friend had recommended Scenic Loop to me as a great way to hold events after having his work conference there. I had an up and coming event (a dermatologist party) and decided to act on his advice. The private party room upstairs was very spacious and well worth the price. The food was great and the view could not be beat. The servers, Liz and Chelsea I believe, were very friendly and I could tell they enoy what they do. All around, Scenic Loop Cafe is a great place to hold an event or to just have a great steak!

Went in on a Friday night with a bunch of friends to listen to the band. we walked in with a large group and the hostess got us seated right away. we had so much fun listening to the music, the food was amazing and the servers were fun and very helpful. i would recomend it to everyone who vistits san antonio. its a good way to exsperience the hill countrys beauty.

I have worked in a resturaunt since I have been able to stand on my own two feet. From working with my family in their returaunt in Houston to going off on my own and working in New York city resturaunts for 3 years now, i have never had better service or as good quality food as i did when i visited the scenic loop cafe. \r My Girlfriend had decided to take me there one day saying it was amazing but i was skeptical. The resturaunt staff BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER! It was a packed Friday night when i went and the server still made me feel as though my girlfriend and i were the most important people in the entire resturaunt. She told us what foods were amazing and what drinks were out of this world. thinking that that was the best it could get, the food came out. there hamburgers are amazing and my Girlfriend raved about their chicken enchiladas. \r i know how hard it is to focus on your customers when the resturaunt gets incredibly busy but these servers know what their doing. the chefs in that kitchen have been blessed with amazing cooking ability too. i advise you to make your way down here as soon as you possibly can. the food and drinks will be worth the trip even if your coming from alaska. plus the server make you feel right at home, treating you with the upmost respect and taking care of you every step of the way.\r The next time you are in San Antonio come visit the Scenic Loop Cafe. Have never had a better CFS in my LIFE

So I wake up in the morning expecting to live a normal day and experience my life in a normal kind of way, but I wasn't prepared for the meal I was about to have. I don't wanna be dramatic, but I NEED to be dramatic to describe how this restaurant was. First off I drove in from the city and was not expecting to find a secluded country feeling restaurant so close to the city. I loved the feeling of being away from the busy roads and highways; I could hear myself think and I could hear my wife speak. Being in the city you don't realize how nice a quiet restaurant can make you feel. But enough about the restaurant's location. I am very particular about my Chicken fried steaks (CFS) and I usually leave a restaurant bored with the effort their chef has given. Instead of being bored, I was excited; Instead of wanting less I wanted MORE. The chicken fried steak at SLC is Humongous for starters. Size is great, but nobody eats something simply for size. The flavor of this steak evoked a euphoric enjoyment on my tongue, and to be honest, completely honest, I have never had a CFS that tasted this good. They give you the choice of brown and white gravy and I'm a brown gravy man, and when I drizzled it on the steak, the flavors came together perfectly. The complexity of the taste was somehow a new CFS flavor that I haven't experienced in some time. Not since my Grandfather used to make them have I tasted something so satisfying. Scenic Loop Cafe truly has perfected the art of the Restaurant World. The CFS was enough to win my loyalty, but the service their was just as amazing. I can't write this review without commenting on the speed and cursory attention to detail that the staff of SLC gives to their customers. I have worked at a restaurant before, and we never were taught to be as thoughtful and courteous as the staff at SLC. They treat you like a gentleman or lady should. They give you a feeling of security and they seem to genuinely care about you. I never got the feeling that my Waitress was just SERVING me, you know? I started to feel like she was being a FRIEND to me. The waitress was Looking out for me and she even helped my nephew pick out a new dish. (He's a little picky like his uncle). All in All, I have a wonderful time experiencing SLC, and I will be back many many times in the Future. I would STRONGLY encourage ANYONE to go to SC ENIC LOOP CAFE. SLC is a great evening get-away for people who love a calm atmosphere and a relaxing dinner. And of course a great CFS. *also it's not a bad place to take your lady (I'm talking to you GUYS).

Best outdoor dining around

I've been going to Scenic Loop Cafe for several years and I find their patio and outside bar to be one of the most relaxing places ever. There is shade and outdoor fans in warm months, and heaters and fire bowls in colder months. The drinks are great, the food is excellent, but the relaxing hill-country patio atmosphere is the best thing of all!

RAT in salad

My family was at scenic loop last Friday , my husband ordered a diner salad and their was something black and harry by the cucumber under ranch dressing. It was a Rat most disgusting thing I have every seen Scenic blamed it on the bagged salad they received from Sisco Ok ,but how the heck do you miss putting a rat on a dinner salad ???? It was disgusting that place is nasty and advise anyone who is even thinking about stepping foot in that place to THINK again....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Restaurant, Service out of the wazzoo

I've been a regular customer at Scenic Loop for a number of years.....during that time I've sampled just about everything on the menu, my company has held several of our Christmas parties there, I take business associates there regularly....I choose Scenic Loop Cafe for a simple set of reason. \r *I know the food will be excellent\r *I know the service will exceed anything in our area\r *The staff is friendly and ready to please the customer\r *The value for the food and service and the patio atmosphere almost year around...makes up for the drive that everyone seems to think is ""way out there near Boerne"" The drive from 1604 and IH-10 is actually 8 minutes....and the traffic is a non issue....so is the parking...\r You will not regret a trip there and bet you will agree with my review...\r Pros: See review\r Cons: None

Great Food at reasonable prices

Had dinner... all three of us had chicken fried steak! We all agreed it was great. The best was the appetizer. A warm goat cheese paired with glazed walnuts, roasted garlic, green apples, and bread. It was well paired and out of this world. A wonderful atmosphere and a place for the kids to go play, so the adults can enjoy their meal.

Best Place in SA area
This is my family’s favorite restaurant in the San Antonio area. The atmosphere is perfect, the staff is friendly and the food is excellent.
It’s just a little bit on the pricey side for me to go more than a couple times a year but it is definitely worth the price you pay.

My husband and I were taking our friend to dinner while her husband was out of town. We arrived about 10 minutes before her, and were seated. We hadn't even had time to look at the cocktail list when our waiter asked us what we would like to drink. We replied, ""Water for now,"" and continued to look at the drink list. After that, our waiter ditched us! We wanted to order our drinks and we couldn't catch anyone to wait on us. A waitress who was covering tables on the other side of the restaurant (and who was obviously running around like crazy already) had then added us as one of her tables. Our waiter proceed to wait on a table of six next to us that immediately ordered a bottle of wine. After that, she tried her best but the service deteriorated further. She just had too many tables and the waiter that we had originally wouldn't even look in our direction. I always leave a tip, but this is the only time I actually regretted it when I left the restaurant. I know my husband and I, along with our friend look young, but we're not! We were dressed appropriately, and we actually spent well over $100 on our meals and drinks. We were going to have dessert, but we couldn't get anyone to take our order! My meal was good, my husband's steak was OK, and our friend's sea scallops were not very special. I do not want to return. However, my husband believes every restaurant deserves a second chance, so we probably will. Not for a while though - I can always think of another place I'd rather go when he suggests scenic loop again.

This place has great food, great staff and a great atmosphere. \r \r This is by far my favorite restaurant. Some people are concerned that it’s a little bit too far from San Antonio but I don’t mind at all…it helps keep the crowds down.\r \r It’s a tad bit pricier than the average SA restaurant but don’t let that stop you from trying it. If you compare the price to the quality of the dinning experience then you will realize that the price you pay is an excellent deal. \r \r Pepper Encrusted Tenderloin and the Shrimp en Brochette are awesome!\r

My sister and I were recently looking at places to hold our parents' anniversary party and were so excited to find Scenic Loop Cafe!! Not only do they have a large banquet facility and lots of choices in their party package, the restaurant is awesome! There was live music, great food & drinks and a huge playground. I was also very impressed with their wine list. There was a wide variety of food - I had a pepper crusted steak, my husband had fajitas, and my sister had the best Shrimp Brochette I have ever tasted. Overall, I left feeling like I had found a secret treasure in the Hill Country. We are definately coming back with the kids!!

Scenic Loop Cafe has it all in my eyes! I loved enjoying the patio area and live music! They claim to have ""The Best Margaritas in San Antonio,"" and they live up to the hype. It has such a great variety of food and beverages to choose from in various price ranges. They also have a really good Happy Hour, that has great prices on their margaritas, beer and well drinks. The staff was so nice and made the evening an even more enjoyable experience. I would go back anytime and bring a croud!

We can to The Scenic Loop Cafe with a party of 20. At most resturants we'd have the worst service, but here we had great service, our food was hot, and the waitress was prompt on serving our drinks. The atmospwhere was awesome. They have an outside play area for the kids with a jungle gym, an outside area for live music for the adults, they have a more relax atmospwhere inside for the romantic couple, and so many other areas we couldn't even get to! It was perfect for our group dining event. We ordered the sea food appetizer and had the best shrimp dip and brochette shrimp. The peach and mango margarita was excellent also. The menu had a large selection of salads, meats, chicken, and pasta, as well as a pretty decent Mexican selection. The food was great and was worth driving 45 miles to try out this resturant.
