They cancelled 3 consultations (2 the day of), and when I finally had the consultation, I waited 2.5 hours past my appt. just to be given a piece of paper and an expected bill for wisdom tooth extraction (took less than 5 minutes). Was also explained of a minimal chance (5% according to the surgeon) of nerve damage due to the placement of my tooth (see day of).
Day Of- was seen quickly, but they were behind schedule and I was forced to wait for a while in the b...view moreack. Once the dentist came in, he gave me a brief consultation (he wanted to because he was not the same dentist that gave me the first consultation) and I was glad he did because the 5% potential for nerve damage jumped to 50%. There is no reason for the numbers to be that varied from dentist to dentist. He told me this as I was being hooked up to the IV’s and other equipment- not the best time to tell someone that there’s a good chance something will go wrong. The operating dentist was more patient and willing to discuss the situation than the first dentist that took less than 5 minutes, so that was an upside.
Post Op- was given a piece of paper and nothing else. When asking for a syringe the day of surgery(common cleansing practice post wisdom tooth extraction) I was told I had to wait a week before I could use it and that they would give it to my care taker/ride for the day- they did not give it to her. After calling and asking to pick one up to use for 7 days after the surgery (as told by them), they said they would get back to me after the dentist was out of surgery. 6 hours later I called back and was told they hadn’t had a request from me, but that I could pick up the syringe.
Worst service I have ever seen- it rivals Wal Mart for an award in worst customer service. I would not recommend the SASA Seguin location to anyone. Also, it is probably not a good business practice to tell your customers that the reason you are running behind schedule is that you have been having trouble getting patients to wake up (meant in all seriousness and not as a joke when I was told)- this was said to me both the day of my consultation and the day of my surgery.

This is for the 1227 SW Military Location.
The consultation was wonderful. I felt comfortable and assured of my well-being.
I have never had any type of surgery before - only one other sedation, so this may be a little biased.
It would have been nice if my doctor was not in a foul mood upon arrival to my surgery.
It would have been nice to know I would keep waking up during the procedure.
It would have been nice to know that my decision to forego the steroids for swelling...view more was a bad one. I decided against them because of complications with another medical issue and the nurse just said "Okay! We won't use steroids."
It would have been nice to know that this inch-and-a-half-long hole in my cheek is NOT supposed to be there, would further irritate the swelling, and I would be spending 15 minutes after every meal washing noodles or bread out of my wound.
It would have been nice to know the possibility of a high fever, chills, and swollen lymph nodes during the following days.
It would be nice to have a doctor that is up-to-date on other medications their patients are on that will slow the recovery process. I knew more about my medication than he did.
I would still like to know how long my lower lip, chin, and ears will be numb. I was not made aware of bruised nerves until I called the rudest answering service ever.
It would have been FANTASTIC to have even had a follow-up call, now 5 days later, after I was already referred to the ER from Urgent Care as the weekend on-call nurse was rude and unhelpful. The ER was appalled. Still no call.
No recommendation here.view less
Well they asked that we be there at 8:15am our appt was at 9:00am. I had to take my child to school an hour early. We get there wait 30 minutes, get called back. I get my instructions and some gauze and then get told I HAVE to wait out front!! I explain to the nurse my daughter gets very very ill from anesthesia. The nurse says Oh we give them medicine for that. The nurse said the Dr would be right in. 20 minutes later the nurse comes out to call someone in and I ask her how my daugh...view moreter is she tells me "oh she hasnt been seen yet." I know my daughter is petrified so I state I want to sit with her. The nurse tells me she is fine. I said I dont care I want to go in with her. She shuts the door and comes back in 5 minutes and says I can go back. Of course my daughter is now in a state of panic. She is freezing cold and all the instruments and needles are everywhere as she sat alone in a room with blaring country music. I tell the nurse I want to stay until they put her IV in and she tell me no. The doctor finally comes in and he says I can stay until they put her to sleep. They call us back about an hour or so later and she is very groggy. We pull the car around and she is throwing up blood and as we drive home she is retching. We get home she curls up by the toilet violently throwing up. I call and ask them why she wasnt given nausea medicine. The nurse says "You have the prescription for it". Wow you would think that in that multi million dollar facility that someone couldve given that medicine in the IV or the melt in your mouth kind before surgery. I was so mad. She threw up all day and could barely keep the gauze in. Whomever runs these facilities needs to train their nurses to be more sweet and calming. People are afraid and they just throw them in a room and shut the door. The doctor should also give a anti nausea medicine so the patient can sleep comfortably instead of barfing blood all day. Give the patient a warm blanket and some tender loving care that would be nice. Then to top it off not even a phone call to see how the patient is doing. AWFUL BEDSIDE CARE TO SAY THE LEAST. The nurse wasnt even sort of nice. He needs to either retrain staff or get caring people on board.view lessShare Review
My son was seen by one of the doctors as an emergency procedure at the Methodist Children's Hospital on Friday 8-7-15 due to an infection from wisdom teeth removal. He was very professional and helped my son with a lot of pain and discomfort. The Dr explained that he would be at a funeral but to call and anyone of the Dr.'s would remove the drainage tube from his mouth....well none of them want to do this and now we have to wait till tomorrow to get this procedure done. I keep telling ...view morethem someone needs to remove this because my son hasn't eaten since he had his teeth removed 8 days ago, now when he tries to bite down he bites on that tube and it hurts him. Very upset mom!!view lessShare Review
