- Wax museum in downtown San Antonio that offers more than 500 unique wax curiosities from around the world.
While in downtown San Antonio today I decided to get a wax hand at Ripley's believe it or not... The young lady that was doing my hand had no communication skills besides telling me to place my hand in wax & water for ($8.99) pink color ($1.00) W/ yellow ($1.00) star ($1.00) i Noticed that my hand wasn't completely pink so I ask if she could redip so it would all be pink.. she did I then noticed that there was a white line on it so I asked the manager if they could fix it, give me discount or something the manager took it back and asked the young lady to fix it which i thought she did when she came back to show it to me with an little attitude she didn't ask if i liked it just showed it to me i looked up and said its ok not knowing that when it dried it was going to have air bubbles and start falling apart. I'm very disappointed that I paid $12.00 + tax for something that's falling apart 4 hrs later.

The Ripleys museums are great!! They have a lot of statues and characters to touch and pose with. Yes there is some reading to do but it's not too intensive. They also have fun things for the kiddo's to do. They can play on the interactive 2nd floor and make a wax hand. Nothing too scary unless you go to the haunted house but the museum itself is very entertaining and well worth the price. Believe it or not! (lol) By the way, the spinning light tunnel on the 3rd floor was my daughters favorite.
We had some time to kill while on vacation in San Antonio and since we had a good experience with Ripley's in Branson a few years ago we decided to visit the one in San Antonio. While there were a number of interesting exhibits, the San Antonio location seemed to lack both quantity and quality compared to the exhibit in Branson. Some of the exhibits appeared dusty. I wouldn't give the San Antonio location a complete thumbs down, but I would advise not having high expectations if you visit.
Thank you for your comments regarding our Ripley's Believe It or Not! located in downtown San Antonio, Texas. We are sorry to hear that your experience wasn't to your satisfaction. Since your visit in 2007, we have opened the largest and newest Ripley's in the United States! Our new Ripley's is a 3-story interactive museum located in the building adjacent to our Wax Museum. If your travels bring you back to San Antonio, we hope you will come back for a visit--we know you will be pleasantly surprised at our new museum. Wax Museam was ok, but some of the figures did not look accurate at all. There is a shop inside the museam where they can take a picture of you and place it inside an astronaut, dancer, etc which was pretty neat. There is also a haunted wax area which is a good place to take a date too. The Believe it or not area was pretty boring though mostly reading plaques on a wall.... I would try the Ripleys Believe it or Not Haunted House down the street instead it looked kinda neat. . .
