DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We stayed overnight at this hotel during State Band Competition. Being that the students were at this location is the only reason for my stay. Location is good, but there are several other hotels in the area. My first room had a refrigerator that did not work & television that had a very loud growl. We stayed at the Red Roof Inn for two nites and three days June 12th through June 15th, 2009. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful. We walked to the Alamo and also to the Riverwalk. We did not ever feel as if it was too dangerous to walk, even late at night. The underpass by the highway is lit up very bright at night and we walked back as late as midnight.
