San Antonio...the land of mediocrity. One would think that an overpriced,but well decorated establishment located in an affluent area would step things up a notch over the competition's. On a positive note, I must commend our server, as well as the hostess for their courtesy and professionalism. They are both very pleasant individuals...the ONLY reason we did not walk out.
My wife and I paid over eighty dollars for a twenty-eight dollar bottle of wine, one appetizer, two entrees, and two ""mini desserts."" I would not object to spending three times this if the items were of any quality. First, our pork dumplings were presented cold and undercooked. I was prepared to send them back, however our food arrived about two minutes later. Overlooking the poor timing , the mongolian beef was supposed to have the onions omitted. No big deal. I just spent the time to push them aside. My wife ordered a chicken dish (sorry, I do not remember the name). The server did a great job of recommending a plate that was mild. Although the term ""hot"" may refer to temperature or spice, I have never heard of the term ""mild"" to be confused with ""cold."" We decided to take the chicken entree to go and share the other plate. Upon completion of the beef, we both decided to each order a single-portioned dessert. This did hit the spot. Our server packaged the leftover entree to go, but forgot to bring an extra portion of rice that we requested.
In today's economy, many restaurants are begging for business. I am very surprised that a restaurant of this caliber could overlook so many important details, not to mention the little one's. Next time I will take my eighty dollars (almost 100 after gratuity) and spend it two or three times over somewhere else.

PF Chang’s apparently makes their money off the ambiance rather than the quality of food or good service.
My daughter and I visited last night and the restaurant was slow, so they seated the two of us at a four person table. That was nice, the view of the kitchen however was not. So, while my daughter had a nice view of the ambiance others talk about, I had the misfortune of watching the kitchen staff scurrying about. Very poor planning for those of us facing the bar/kitchen.
Our waiter was friendly and courteous, however a bit slow on taking our order and later, refilling our drinks (as was the case for the people at the tables next to ours). We ordered appetizers which arrived quite slowly and only a few minutes before the main meal.
So, while we were eating our appetizers the main course came out and the food server pushed aside our appetizers to make room. ""We'll just get those out of the way so you can get to this"". In a falsetto insincere kindness voice. Again, we were at a four person table and still eating appetizers. It would have been more customer friendly to time the delivery better - watch the customer. Additionally, after the main course was placed, our Waiter came over to remove our appetizer plates. Again, without asking ""Let me just get those out of your way"" and proceeded to tip our flatware onto the table and place a dinner plate - very tacky. I felt like I was at a chow hall or BBQ, not a restaurant. Clearly we should have been ASKED if we were ready for our meal and secondly no one should ever be expected to use the same flatware after it's been dumped onto a table. Why so conservative on flatware, there IS a dishwasher in the back.
And finally, there was no fortune in my cookie. That seemed to be the perfect ending to summarizing my feelings of PF Chang’s - No Future.

I love to eat there the atmosphere is sophisticated but the dress code is comfortable the best of two worlds. The portions are great, served family style. I suggest you really try the brown rice. Oh and they have this great dessert, i cant remember the name but it is a pastry dish of about 3 egg rolls filled with bananas, cooked to serve warm over a decorated plate of drizzled caramel with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and the the egg rolls cut in half and propped up around the ice cream with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Great contrast in flavors, the warm bananas, with coconut, the pastry of egg roll and the coldness of the ice cream with that taste of fresh fruit. Delish!!!!This is a dish with enough for 2 or you can spoil yourself and enjoy it all.

Where to start. Well the place is fancy enough situated in the quarry area of Alamo Heights. I had heard very good things about PF's , so i decided to try it out. I was seated promptly and noticed the fancy linen napkins and posh stainless placement. The waiter was sorta untrained I would say, as he greeted himself properly, but made a huge mistake by placing his hand squarely on my napkin to prop himself up while asking me if this was my first time there. Now that I think about it, he was probably performing a 'freudian cover-up' since upon unfolding my linen napkin I discovered it was stank. I mean it stank worse than a winos unmentionables. A huge mistake PF, what's that all about. Next the waiter pretty much forced me to order an appetizer upon which when I said I didn't want one he insisted he bring me one free of charge, so I chose the vegetable spring rolls. I wish I had sprung right out of there after the malodorous linen surprise, but undaunted, I would see this unpleasant repast through. The spring rolls were extremely greasy, and tasted of old oil. The vegetable filling was also not very pleasant. I ate about a half of one and decided to give the rest to the dishwasher. The main course was some kind of weird obviously Asian dish I had never heard of, sorry I can't remember what it was, but nothing about the experience was memorable. The waiter had to make my vegetable filled Asian burritos right at the table, which he was not very adept at, and spread some dark black muck on them as well, which totally blew the whole meal right out of the water. I asked the waiter to quickly box up about 3/4ths of the 'leftovers' to see if my family would also find the food as revolting as I did. I must say I was shocked at the lack of good management, but I guess in this day and age even average help is hard to find. Mybeef is: gag me with a spoon, this place stinks. One star!

Everything was presented well and the waiters were good, but I didn't have anything that was really great. It was all AMERICANized Chinese (not even sure if I could really call it Chinese food). It has a cool atmosphere, but the food just isn't that great.

With all the hype that this P.F. Changs was the best Chinese, I decided to give it a shot with my girlfriend. With a dazzling atmosphere of contemporary Chinese art and sculptures, it was like you were at a museum. Unfortunately, that was the only pro at P.F. Changs. When our waiter came, he was really attentive at the beginning then stopped coming. He only gave us refills once and went to go talk to some other clients in Spanish ignoring us completely. Upon ordering, we decided to get Moo Shoo Pork with pancakes. The waiter, being nice I guess, said that there were only three to four pint size pieces of pork loaded with a fat load of lettuce and eggs to make it look like big portions. He recommended the Spicy Chang's chicken which was 12 dollars. We also got Northern Spare Ribs for 8 dollars. HOLY COW! That's 20 dollars, you can go to some little chinese place a get 3-4 entrees! Anyway, when we got the Spare Ribs it was only 6 meatless ribs. Though tender, it was more like BBQ than Chinese flare. Sorry to say though, those were the best ribs I ate since being in San Antonio, and thats from a Chinese resturant. I was so disappointed with the quantity. Anyway, I cleared my mind for the next entree. When the Spicy Chicken came on to the table with rice, there was way more rice than chicken. The portion was soooo small for 12 dollars. It was like getting 2 skinless chicken breasts and dicing them up into cubes. I was soooo pisssed! It was so bad that there was not enough food for 20 bucks that I pretended to be full so my girlfriend could eat the few cubes of meat there was left to eat. I'd say about 15 -20 pieces. WTF When the waiter came back he started saying stupid stuff how like people thnk that P.F. Changs is affordable to everyone and how good it is. He kept on telling us to come back, like he was scared that we would never come back. I had to lie to my teeth going ""yeah it was the best."" If your looking for good chinese food, don't stop and keep on driving. : (

This modern, chic restaurant couldn't have appealed more to my taste. The staff is extremely friendly and will usually be very helpful for the indecisive customer. The food is to die for, though i've only been to this establishment twice, chinese food is my favorite and have dined in many similar restaurants. The food here rises high above any other chinese cuisine in the area. Many middle-aged sophisticated people attend this restaurant on a regular basis, so bringing children or younger kids would not be a good idea. If you are willing to spend a higher amount of money for great tasting food, this is the place for you.
