Top notch dinning. We go for every Birthday and Anniversary and to date haven't had a bad experience. We order the same every single time. Bacon wrapped scallops, Cesar salad, Cajun Ribeye medium Plus, lyonaise potatoes, mushrooms and godiva hot chocolate cake! Perfection!

Ok, i have eaten at Morton's and San Antonio's i was told was one of the best. WRONG Service and food STUNk. We waited so long for a drink and then for our food. THe workers were more interested in going home so they were busy cleaning up way before closing time. The ribeye and the filet mignon were crucified by the cook. The filet mignon was supposed to be well done- yes i know it should be rare. Nevertheless i have had a well done steak that was still juicy. Non here. the steak was way overdone and rock hard. The ribeye was equally lousy. As we left without finishing our drinks or even eating the steaks. the waiter had the nerve to ask if we enjoyed our meal. The full plates tell the story- we will never eat at Morton's again as this was a rip-off at the prices where staff should not allow this.
I have never had a bad steak at Mortons, I just dont like the location
I cant state enough about the lack of service most companies seem to have these days. Mortons is one of the few that seem to shine. Everything from the greeting, the setting, the staff is all top notch. The food is wonderful and didnt mind paying the higher price for the presentation and service received. Recommend anyone to at least try once!

I'm from Illinois and my wife and I fancy a dim-lit, black and white picture clad, redbrick walled Chicago style steakhouse from time to time. If you like the liberty of throwing peanut shells on the floor; this is not your place. But for me, going to a place like Morton's once in a blue-moon as apposed to our frequent patronage to Texas Roadhouse is like going to Chris Madrid's versus McDonald's. Don't get me wrong I love peanut-shell-on-floor ""TEXAS Steakhouses"", they are great. I met my wife in Texas Roadhouse for crying out loud. Saltgrass is great too. But when you feel like you're ready to take it to the WOL (Whole Other Level) (from SNL) Maybe its time for a Bone-In-""Chicago-style""-Ribeye. (the meat closest to the bone has the most flavor) This is the closest thing I think you're going to find to Harry Carey's or a Chicago steak experience in Texas.

We arrived 15 minutes early & had to wait in the lounge. This is the only negative- if you have any intolerance to second hand smoke & smells then the residual smell of cigarette smoke will gag you. This smell is only in the lounge, the restaurant area is fine so stay out of the lounge. At exactly 5:30 we were seated at our booth. The staff pulled out the table to allow easy access..and then the show began. Laura wheeled over a cart of food & made a spectacular presentation of the steaks and customized menu items. Our waiter, Chris, came over and brought a round loaf of onion bread (YUM) & made recommendations. We ordered chilled Maine lobster - ( $21 for about 4 oz) ....the presentation was beautiful, but the lobster itself was slightly overcooked and therefore a litte rubbery, but still flavorul. Onto the main course - no wait...time for a picture???....more about that later. My husband ordered the 24 oz Porter house steak ($56.00) it was like BUTTER, rare, perfectly seasoned, what a steak should be. I ordered the rare sashimi grade Ahi tuna steak ($48.00) & again perfection... Asian inspired flavor...cooked rare (yes still cool in the center)...just wonderful... We also ordered a Morton Salad $15.00 & broccoli w/ bernaise sauce ..skip those....nothing really wrong...just not needed...pricey & not really flavorful. Then we made our 1st big mistake...we let our waiter recommend a bottle of wine..and forgot to ask the price...$133.00 for a bottle of red wine was crazy...good but not worth it...Remember the picture: Our maitre'd brought over a congratulaory picture of my husband and I, at our booth, in a signed black matt cardboard frame...saying Happy Anniversary...It was signed by all the wait staff....then they delievered a complimentary chocolate lava cake ($14.00).... that was to die for. The service was impeccable....all the staff was attentive and the food was great. We will definately go back for those special occasions.

i'm not sure why anyone would compare morton's to ruth's chris. morton's easily has better service, better food, and premium steaks. the ribeye here is simply addictive. i go once a month and have never seen anything but perfection presented on my plate. if you love ribeye, this is the place.

I'm not sure what happened the night previous poster Eloy went to Morton's, but I have always had divine food and fabulous service at Morton's. It is a great place for Steaks, Seafood, and some of the most amazing vegetable dishes and desserts around. Some people unfamiliar with Morton's signature steaks think their steaks are burned; in actuality if you'll take a minute to cut into them you'll realize that their unique cooking method seals in the juices and flavors like nobody else. I also LOVE their Colossal Shrimp and their Ocean platters. Secret info: The bar offers FREE petite filet mignon sandwiches from 5-5:30 weekends...so you can buy a drink and enjoy their yummy steak for a pittance of price. I'm not a fan of the butter slathered steaks of Ruths Chris..and am a diehard Morton's fan. I thought it would be an intimidating experience, but the wait staff is so friendly and helpful it is always an enjoyable time whether I go with a group of friends or my boyfriend.

Thought this would be great for an anniversary dinner. Wrong. The service was lousy, they burned 2 $50 dollar steaks. I ate about a third of my steak and could no longer wash away the charcoal burnt taste with my cold beer, my wife wouldn't even touch her steak after she tasted it. She opted to only eat her salad. Service was so lousy we were seated at 10:00 pm and after our salad we had to flag down waiters to get more drinks, as they do not have a dedicated server for you. By the time we received our burnt steaks it was already 11:30 pm. It took them about an hour to burn and serve our steaks. We left there hungry after 11:30 PM and had to settle for Denny's. The only good thing was after complaining to the manager they ate the $148.00 bill. I will never go back. Here are some of the better steakhouses I have taken my wife to for Anniversaries and was very pleased with service and food.\r Grey Moss Inn - Awsome open flame cooked steaks - Very Romantic setting\r Ruth's Chris Steak House - They never disappoint\r Little Rhein Steak House - Not romantic but good food\r Texas Land & Cattle Steakhouse\r Saltgrass Steak House\r I hope I save someone a bad experience and a few $$$.

Fabulous steaks, presented to the diner before cooking. Great sides as well. Don't miss the house coffee afterwards!! Totally awesome experience- incredible service.

They need to enforce the same rules that other Morton's around the nation have, attire is Business Class or higher or no entrance. Also, strollers should not be allowed at tables. I know the Riverwalk is tourist, but the class of the restaurant should still remain.

This is the best beef you can find in a San Antonio steakhouse. The service ranks in the top 5 in SA as well. Not recommended for those of you who don't like to spend $30+ on a steak. Make sure you pre-order the souffle - you just cannot go wrong.

My husband and I have moved from San Antonio and the only thing we miss is Morton's! It was by far the best restaurant there. The service was impecable! We have traveled all over the world and eaten in countless restaurants. I have NEVER gotten the kind of service I've gotten at Morton's, ANY PLACE ELSE!!! They anticipated your every want, was there when you needed them, and disappeared when you wanted privacy. The food is mouth watering and the Godiva cake is TO-DIE-FOR!

We waited over an hour and had reservations. When we were seated the services was extremely slow. I would not recommend this resturant to anyone.

The place is over rated and over priced. Food was very good, but compared to comparable restaurants in town, Morton's is overpriced. And better double check you bill, ours had errors and gross over charges.

One of the best dinning experiences in town. Food is excellent and wine list is very complete.

Living in Texas, we have been to lots of fine steakhouses, but it took one from Chicago to show us just how good it could be. This is our number one choice for special occasions.

Although the steaks and fish selections are always good, a must for me every time I go is the wild mushroom appetizer and the Godiva chocolate cake. In fact, I could make a meal out of these 2 things alone!

I took my friend there for dinner last March and it was phenomenomally good but very pricey!!I had a steak and she had a Maine lobster.

if the USDA Prime meat, the service and the wine not up to par for you then you better try the godiva cake it in a class of its own
