- Celebrating, protecting and sharing the special love of animals, Marbach Road Animal Hospital has served the pets and pet owners of west San Antonio since 1973. Together Dr. Martin and Dr. Young have over seventy-five years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery. We provide your pet with the highest quality veterinary care. Dr. Philip Martin is board certified in companion animal practice (dogs and cats) by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioner. Dr Martin was initially certified in 1982 and has successfully been re-certified by examination in 1992 and 2002.

We have been utilizing this facility for years. Dr Young his Doctors and staff have been great.
Dr Young has been absolutely the best at treating our Bulldog's Cullen and Tonja and showed such love when we brought Tonja in when he passed away. Christine rt the front desk is amazing and I am sure all the super employees here will ensure that appropriate customer service is conducted.
I see quite a few displeased customers. I am a vet tech that works here. Kat is definitely not a people person. I love seeing people ask for me to be their tech, or tell me they were happy I was working today. If there is a problem then you can always ask for another tech. I do apologize for any mistreatment by our staff. Dr. Young can be rough around the edges but he absolutely melts at the sight of any animal. Dr. Martin is a little different from him, by being more empathetic and chatty Kathy. But this is one of the best veterinary establishments I've seen and I've been in this practice for 1.5 years now. Just ask for Jami.
Ive been coming hear for years and really feel bad about leaving them but their front desk is rude and can not handle their job appropriately. My 13 year old has better manners than these ladys ( i use that term loosely).
My husband and I have been taking our dogs here for about 6 years. The first time I went there we had a dog that was old and needed to be put to sleep. I have never had a vet that takes a paw print in a plaster shaped heart and then sends a beautiful signed sympathy poem a couple weeks after the passing of a pet. I thought that this was SOOOOOO thoughtful and caring. The staff is wonderful and both doctors really care ALOT about your pet. I went in one day to get some dogfood and the front receptionist was crying with a lady who had just had her dog put to sleep. These people do care. I am sadden to see the negative remarks about this place. Maybe those people just wouldn't be pleased from anyone!
i was there with my dog for artifial insemmination and they were great, good prices too would recomend to everybody
