My husband and I just spent four days in Houston during the Spring Break. Our first night there we were looking for a good place to eat, We notice that Los Cucos parking lot was packed and we figured if its packed that means lots of people like it. We were not wrong! We were greeted by a very nice young friendly waiter. We ordered a parillada for two and boy were we love with los cucos. I don't know what they use to marinate there meats but all meats were very tender. We loved th...view moree food so much that we went back a second time. This time we ordered individual plates and again we were not disappointed. In fact when we got back home (Rio Grand Valley) we 've recommended Los Cucos to all our friends, relative, co-workers. It was great...Keep up the GREAT WORK....view less

I'm from Houston and love Los Cucos usually alot of the girls from the office gather at one of the many locations..have eaten at the New Braunfels location when on vacation... and have eaten at the Seguin location when traveling to San Antonio....unware that there was one in San Antonio until last night. Met with friends it was simply AWWWFULLLL....it was sooooo HOT in there it was like a sauna, and everytime we mentioned to the waiter he made a joke of it...NOT FUNNY...the manager cl...view moreaimed that the air was on but it was hard to believe with the SWEAT rolling down his face...it was toooo hot to eat only the ladies ordered but ending up taking it home...FYI if you go in there and it's really HOT ask yourself when your wait staff puts that plate down in front of you "HMMM DID HIS SWEAT FALL ON MY PLATE"view less
The Margaritas are always great. They serve you too much good food (leftovers for tomorrow's lunch!). Try the fried avocado or any of the parrillada plates.
The service has always been great. If you are looking for a 'con' - then maybe the harp is too loud... but we know that and sit far away so we can still enjoy the music and have a conversation, too! Simple fix.
Well, Pete Sauceda, Area Manager, has always told us to try Los Cucos in San Antonio, we never had the time til we were looking for a special place to celebrate our First wedding Anniversary. So we went to Los Cucos, Louis, was our waiter, awesome service, even was patient with my husband being he is special needs. Suggested great food and Margarita's for me! have to try Top Shelf margarita on the rocks, yummmmm! then the General manager came over to our table and wished us a happy ann...view moreiversary and was very genuine. Food was great, best fajitas Ive ever tasted with the poblano creamy sauce, My husband had a spicy fajita plate said it was awesome also, there rice is diffrent but in a great way, we had the sampler platter for appetizer, very good and fresh. I cant wait to try more next time, huge menu hard to decide, very nice atmosphere had soft mexican music live with a harp. Pete thanks for the recomendation, you work for a very nice restaraunt business we are going to be regulars from now on! we need more than one in San Antonio!view less
Had a party there recently. The food was great and so was the service! The waitstaff was very attentive, personable and patient. I was disappointed not to see Ceviche on the menu when it was listed on their website menu. Thats what I was looking forward to ordering. Instead I ordered the seafood stuffed avocado - WOW different and delish!!! The chips are stale but all the entrees were really good!\r
When our party moved to the kareoke area it was another story... \r
A ...view morewaitress PUSHED for us to order drinks and despite telling her we had our drinks with us (non alcoholic) she continued to insist someone order something and stood there with her pad in hand waiting. When we said ""maybe later"" she stormed off very angry. She did not come to our tables the rest of the time we were there desite the fact our party took up most of the patio area! She would walk past with an angry look on her face but not once did she return to ask if we needed anything. We had to go and order our own drinks. Eventually a very nice waitress with a great attitude did come over and started taking our orders the rest of the night.\r
Kareoke: A couple in our group submitted their names/songs and a long while later, after watching the same people take turns over and over, one of the guys asked when it was going to be their turn. Despite handing the slip over to the host directly - he was told there was no submission made! The guys REsubmitted their slip. Again, the same people kept going up and 11 minutes before kareoke was OVER people in our group got to sing ONE song. \r
So if you want good food come here definitely but if you want to kareoke I suggest you go somewhere else or walk in with papers pre-filled and make sure you go on the list right then and there before you walk off and sit down!view less
Id just like to tell the lady before me that she needs to stop complaining, just because they cant handle TRUE MEXICAN FOOD, doesnt mean its gross and its the resturants fault!!! I eat there every friday with my coworkers and NOT ONCE have had an unsettling feeling in my stomach. And if i was the manager, I wouldnt call u back either just to hear u bit** and complain and prolly ask for a FREE MEAL. ppl like u r pathetic. I LOVE THIS RESTURANT :) Food is GREAT! AND LOVE THE MUSIC!!! HAP...view morePY HOUR IS ALSO WONDERFUL!!view less
I am a regular cusotmer of Los Cucos in San Antonio . The staff is always very helpful an the food is fantastic. They offer mexican food with great flavors. I also go to Karaoke on Wednessday nights and the djs are a lot of fun and we enjoy the variety of music. It is a great place to eat and drink while relxing. I often take out of town guest there for dinner.
have to change my wording since the review doesn't let me put the vom , thro up, and diar word to indicate that my family was upchucking and pooping after eating at this place. It flagged the words as ""inappropriate"", but these are important words to mention when talking about food. I had been here before with co-workers and thought it was a decent place, although there are better Mexican restaurants near my home. My brother and his family were visiting. He had the grilled chicken wi...view moreth vegetables from the healthy menu section and gave a small piece to his 4 year old son and me. Within three hours both father and son were upchucking profusely. They continued to up chuck throughout the night and the entire day about every two hours. It is still ongoing as I write. When I called to tell the night manager, she was apologetic and said she would have the general manager call me. I am still waiting. I gave both my home and cell phone. The emesis was so abundant and forceful, I will report this to the department of health. I am a nurse and my brother a physician. The 4 year old also started with liquid stools as well as me and we had a small piece. Their hygiene practices are definitely lacking.view less
If you are going there to sing karaoke, I advise you to go somewhere else. Our group of 10+ patrons had to wait more than an hour between songs while the table next to us (that the DJ obviously was friends with) got to hog the mike. We even got there at 7 when the karaoke started yet by 10:15, only 2 opps to sing in an uncrowded bar. Along with the rest of our table. I come from a club that is 400+ strong, we could have brought alot of business to the club if we had been treated fairly...view more! But we will gladly take our business ELSEWHERE! Also, the skanky DJ needs to take a class in HOW to DJ because she has no clue, lots of dead air moments throughout the 3 hours our group was barely given a chance to sing. Los Cucos must mean lacking class.view less
The hostess was rude immediatelty as we walked in, I waited 30 minutes for cold food which I refused to eat, The manager was very unprofessional and basically told me I was stealing because I didn't pay for food that I would never eat, let alone feed my son! Very understaffed and the service they do have is terrible!
