On September 22, 2010, I called Leading Edge for information about their temp services and they told me to apply online and come in the next day. So, I applied online and provide all my pertinent information like Name, date of birth, social security number and such. The next day I went in for a quick interview and skills testing. The interview went fine after all I am a retiring Army Recruiter so I know how to conduct an interview. After the interview I was moved onto the skills testing for MS Office products and testing. I score above the global average on every test, so I assumed everything is great. I step out of the testing room and told the Operations Manager (Maritza) that I was completed. She told fine please have a seat in the first conference room. We sat down in the conference room and I told her how great I did on the test and I expected to continue on to the next step. That is when she drops the bomb on me! I had gotten out of the Army for a period of time and upon becoming a civilian worked for a few temp agencies. Supposedly, in 1999 they had called me for a job at Cotts beverages and I was a no show for the job. I don’t remember every working for Leading Edge and I would not have gotten a job in the light industrial field.
Now the office environment is nice and the staff is friendly and casually dressed. I have no complaints about the environment or the staff, per se. My main grip is when I provided my social security on the online application someone in that office should have checked my information. Once that alert popup that I can never work for Leading Edge because I was a no show back in 1999 they should have called me right away. The fact that I was unable to work for them because I supposedly did not show up to a job eleven years ago is entirely ridicules. Since that time, I have finished my Bachelors Degree and almost completed my MBA. In addition, I have completed my twenty plus years in the Army and will retire at the end of October. Why would this company suppose that I am the same individual and same maturity level that I was eleven years ago? This was a complete waste of my valuable time!
I highly recommend to anyone that is looking to this company for temp employment to have them check the company records to see if he or she has worked for them before and your standing with the company.
