Success! Thanks for posting your review of La Fogata. You’ve done the world some good today.

Poor food experience

We had guests from out of state in town and they had heard about La Fogata, We really wanted to go Rosario's but decided to go here instead. Big mistake. The food was mediocre at best, which is not good in a town like SA. The shrimp nachos were completely soggy when they came to the table...You had to eat them with a spoon. My guests had enchiladas and they didn't even hardly touch them because they were so bland... view more

We were searching the best Margarita in San Antonio so we decide to give La Fogata a try. We asked for an outdoor seating and ended up seated in a place covered with a big tent which I do not consider outdoor. We had a very attentive waiter, the salsa was good and the food came out piping hot. We ordered the Top Shelf Margarita which was good but I have better elsewhere. For meal we had the Picadillo Enchiladas an... view more

Took forever to be seated and ...

Took forever to be seated and waited on. The food is horrible, tasted like it came out of a can. You have to drink a few margaritas so that you can't tell how bad the food really is. Way over priced.

I really expected more from this restaurant.

My actual rating would really be about 2.5 stars--mainly for atmosphere and service. We had a group event (about 18-20 people) at this place so I got the opportunity to eat at this place for the first time. When you enter this place--you really feel like you're at one of those seaside resorts with a restaurant. Very festive like another reviewer said. The place is very clean and there's a lot of space to talk with fr... view more

Good Mexican Resturant

My family went to San Antonio on vacation and while there we ate at La Forgata Mexican Resturant. The resturant was decorated beautifuly. The waitstaff was nice. The margaritas were great!. I had the Polo Loco and the chicken was grilled to perfection. Will go back when in town.

never again

The only thing this place has to offer is the setting/atmosphere...well, and the service was somewhat okay.\r \r The food and drinks are EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for the quantity and the quality. Seventeen bucks for two tacos? three dollars for a tiny side of cheese? puhleeze.\r \r I'm pretty sure San Antonio has better Mexican food to offer.

Wonderful atmosphere -- worth the wait!

Took my family and niece for a taste of good mexican food. The wait was long but we were seated long before what we were told. We ate outside and enjoyed awesome margaritas -- the mango margarita is outstanding! I thought the fajitas needed some seasoning and my daughter's appetizer had to be sent back. The kitchen never did get it right but they happily adjusted our bill.\r \r The atmosphere makes it all worth... view more

Great Atmosphere

You can sit either inside or outside of this restaurant. Pretty good food and great margaritas. I enjoy sittig outside and people watch. If you haven't visited this place yet, you must go and find out what the buzz is all about!

The Best

The best atmosphere, the best (and largest) traditional margaritas and the best chicken mole, what more could you ask for?
