With the capacity to kill and bone more than 260,000 cows per year, the L&H Packing Company has become one of the largest processor of lean beef in the Southwest. In 1979, Surlean Meat Company, now known as Surlean Foods, was founded as a means to capitalize on the food service industry by providing further processing. By owning both L&H Packing and Surlean Foods, the company is able to control the wholesomeness, safety, quality, and consistency of its products from the pasture to the table. L&H Packing produces a wide variety of boneless beef products. L&H also operates its own hide processing facility, processes it own hides and has its own rendering facility on-site.
