The primary purpose of Hallmark College is to serve students, business, industry, and the community. The dedication of staff and faculty to professional excellence in technical education affords the individual student the opportunity to attain a high level of skill competency while developing the whole person, emphasizing ethics, social responsibility, and the value of work to lay the foundation for lifelong learning and success.

Hallmark College’s educational philosophy requires students to achieve mastery of sequentially ordered course material and to demonstrate competence in performing skills or behaviors that are central to specific tasks, activities, or careers. Advisory Committees or other industry representatives verify these identified tasks. Students are told specifically what performance competencies are required. Instructors regularly evaluate students’ progress against these stated objectives. Finally students do not advance to more complicated skill material until they perform tasks that are required for successful job performance at a specified level of competency. Field trips, guest speakers, school activities, etc., are incorporated into the scheduled hours without deletion of required course material or student projects.
