Great Doctor and assistant very professional staff members. Overall I have received the best dental care. I recommend to all my family and friends to go Detailed Dental.

Do not use this office or these dentists ...EVER!!!!

If you look at their website they preach predictable results, but not

customer satisfaction. I've had two extractions in my life...one at

detailed dental and one elsewhere...the one conducted at detailed

dental was brutal, barbaric, and painful, the extraction done

elsewhere was smooth, sophisticated and almost pain free. All I heard

from the detailed dental dentist was how smooth things were going,

everything is doing well. He said he put in bone grafting material that

a subsequent X-ray showed none existed. In my conversation with

the dentist after the X-ray all he said to me was that he couldn’t explain

what happened and that “99%” of his bone grafting was successful.

No apology, no …let’s see what we can do about the problem…just

I don’t know what happened. The bigger problem now as a result of

his work was, that I needed another procedure costing in excess of

$2000 to fix what he caused. Again, in our conversation, his response

to the need of the other procedure was that he had just checked his notes

and said he had informed me of the potential need of the other procedure

before he extracted my tooth…how convenient.

I corresponded on numerous occasions with the owner of Detailed Dental

and requested they take care of this situation. His response was first to

tell me what an accomplished individual his dentist was, gave me his

credentials, even told me what a great guy and family man his dentist

was….before offering me a partial refund the work done and saying

that he hoped this would help with the cost of the other procedure to fix

my issue. His attempted refunded was approximately 10% of the cost

of the future procedure...how insulting. Predictable results...sure if you

want a dentist that isn’t accountable, but is willing to take your

money anyway!

Do NOT go here!! The first visit I had to Detailed Dental went pretty well and the hygienist was really nice and helpful. But I was scheduled to come back and have a significant amount of work done in one appointment so I wanted to do the sedation. They sent the prescription to the wrong pharmacy so when I called the morning of the appointment they had me running all over town trying to find it. I told them I would just reschedule for another day but they insisted on my just coming in a few hours later than I was supposed to. So I took the pill, went in and was in the chair for about an hour when Dr. Potter announced that he was hungry and that's all he was going to get to that day!! He had only completed half the work he was supposed to, and I had to take off the whole day because of the sedation! It was the most unprofessional, inconsiderate thing that has ever happened to me. It has been three weeks and they still haven't called to try and schedule an appointment to finish what didn't get done because Dr. Potter had a grumbly stomach! I will never go here again, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They obviously don't care at all about what their patients have to do in order to come in. Save your money and your time and go somewhere else.

I have finally found a dental office that I love. Detailed Dental is a great office. Dr Potter and the staff are great . Dr. Del Rio is doing the ortho for my children. It is so convenient to have all your needs met at one location. I love the laid back family atmosphere in the office, no rushing and no long periods of sitting in the chair waiting for the dentist to come in. The technology is also amazing, everything is digital and crowns are made in only one visit. I did not have fuss with a temporary crown for several weeks. Overall, Just a great experience!!

I had my first visit at Detailed Dental just a couple of months ago and could not have been more pleased. The front staff took the time to research my detal insurance for me and le tme know up front what was covered and what was not covered by my dental insurance. The were extremely friendly and accomodating to my schedule. Kat, the hygienst, was very gentle and thorough. That was the first time I had ever had my gum tissues measured, WOW!! And Dr. Potter as very down to earth and explained everthing to me in way that I could understand it. The technology is just amazing. I got my crown done all in one visit. I would recommend all my family and friends.

I have to totally disagree with the previous review. I have been going to this dental office for the past few years and have received nothing but the very best care. Dr. Del Rio and Dr. Potter are great dentists. They ARE very caring and gentle. I have had molars capped that we decided to try capping first, as opposed to a root canal right off the bat - sometimes the cap solves the problem and other times a root canal is ultimately needed. The staff will tell you all your options up front so you can decide based on your personal choice and budget. Every person heals differently and there can be lots of reasons why your tooth has a problem even after dental treatment - due to underlying medical conditions, smoking, prescription drugs, etc. This office uses state-of-the-art equipment and makes my crowns in 12 minutes! Awesome! No need for a temp. crown or multiple visits. I love everyone there from the front office to the hygienists to the techs! Big 5 stars!!!

I had two crowns put in by Dr Potter at Detailed Dental. What a colossal error in judgment on my part. Their web site is a total piece of fiction, There was no gentle caring dental work. I was in total pain the night of my crown prep. No warning of pain, no prescription for pain medication. By Sunday night and early Monday AM I was in excruciating pain again. Apparently Potter put on a double cap instead of single capping each tooth and it must of pinched or irritated my gums to the point I had to declare a dental emergency. Later when he installed the crowns, the tech let the dental cement dry too long and some of it was still between the two crowns. Potter rammed a piece of dental floss between the teeth about a dozen times so hard i could feel the blood trickling down my throat and had to stop him...gentle and caring, .no way. After the crowns I immediately began feeling discomfort and sensitivity to cold I hadn't experienced before. Apparently he shaved the back molar too close to the nerve and possibly damaged the nerve...we'll never know, he simply put the crown on it and sent me on my marry way to spend the next five months in increasing discomfort. I ended up in a Endodontist office to get a root canal. Stay away from this place. You have too many good dental options in SA to settle on this house of pain.
