I've always believed Dr. Castro to be a good doctor. The problem is he has surrounded himself with an abysmal staff. I was at the westover hills location today and witnessed a young mother of young toddler twins who had been in the waiting room for more than 45 minutes and her kids began to melt down. She began to struggle to try to calm both children and she told me she wanted to go back to a room to continue waiting. She knocked on the office sliding window to ask for help. No one would come to the window. She called out for help to no avail. During all of this attempt to get help, one child fell flat on his face and cut his head open and began to bleed profusely and NOT A SINGLE SOUL stepped away from their desk or came out behind a closed door to help this woman. I have never seen such appalling disrespect and unconcern from a physician's staff toward someone who needed help or was injured. Finally the woman left in tears with blood streaming down the face of one child and the 2nd child crying. She left because she could not get help and had been sitting there for an hour by this time. There is no reason office visits cannot be scheduled more accurately so no one has to wait an hour or more to see the doctor when they are dealing with young children. I doubt she ever goes back. And after witnessing that scene, we won't be going back either. My husband and I will find another pediatrician due to the obvious lack of concern for this situation by Dr. Castro's staff. We just cannot support a doctor who doesn't either care or have a clue what goes on in his own office. Dr. Castro needs to revamp his office staff in a big way.
