amora - generally refers to a lecturer's assistant where a lecturer would state his points briefly and the amora would then repeat them aloud for the public's benefit, adding translation and clarification where needed. in terms of ballroom dancing, we repeat the teachings of ballroom dancing that have been passed down for generations adding translation and clarification where needed so that everyone has the privilege of learning to dance, and so we are the amora of ballroom dancingin Spanish, amor means love and so in terms of dance you can interpret it as "for the love of ballroom dancing". also in Spanish, mora means blackberry, a high antioxidant fruit. in terms of health, ballroom dancing is a form of exercise that can boost the immune system. ballroom dancing is an art that incorporates many fitness components using an artistic state of mind. dance movements can strengthen the body & mind connection improving both the mental and physical well being of individuals. just some fun facts about our name so you can share with your friends, see you on the dance floor...Amora Ballroom is a beautiful ballroom and dance studio that offers the city of San Antonio and its community the continuing education of ballroom dancing as well as offering rentals for special events such as weddings, quinceanera debutantes, private parties and special events. ballroom offers a 5, 500 sq.ft. open dance floor, all levels of dance: beginner, intermediate & advanced, and full catered eventsthe balllroom was opened for business on April 2, 2007 and was first named Semeneya Ballroom. on December 19, 2009 a new name has been given now known as "Amora Ballroom". it is conveniently located at 2899 NE 410 San Antonio, Texas in the NE 410 CENTREnormal business hours are Monday through Friday from 1pm to 9pm. dance lessons are offered through both private lessons &or group classes. private lessons are by appointment only are scheduled through the front desk. group classes are offered Sunday through Fridays. there is always beginner basic level 1, intermediate level 2 or advanced level 3 group classes offered weekly so that everyone has a chance to learn a variety of steps and dances. styles of dance taught vary from smooth standard, international latin, american rhythm & country western all falling under the catergory ballroom dancingthe ballroom offers a program for youth in ballroom dancing where kids can learn ballroom dancing during the summer. there is a minimum requirement of 7 years of age to participate in the youth ballroom dancing program. the class is held Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3 to 4pm that covers both smooth & rhythm
