Wow, did I ever have a bad experience at this place. I should have suspected there would be problems when I was told a different list of available services and (higher) prices than what is listed on their website, but I thought they were really pleasant on the phone and they explained the services clearly. There are different levels of nail services and I settled on a ""spa"" mani/pedi combo. I arrived for my appt and was told the nail tech was out that day and they had tried to call me but had the wrong number. I was annoyed that I drove all the way out to 281 & 1604 for nothing but appreciated the apology from Christina, who seems to be a manager or owner. Christina gave me a voucher for a free mani/pedi, which I planned to hang onto because I already had a gift certificate, and rescheduled me for the following weekend. The phone number they had for me was correct and I double-checked with her before I left so I'm assuming they just misdialed the first time, or didn't actually bother to call me at all. Once I eventually received my service, I was not impressed. I appreciated the tech letting me know that the price I was quoted over the phone was inaccurate and letting me drop down to a cheaper manicure ($15 instead of $25), but really, I've had better experiences at those quickie strip mall salons. The $45 spa pedicure is pretty basic and includes no massage of the legs and feet, which is a big part of why I wanted it. I don't even think she applied lotion, and if she did it was certainly not the heavy moisturizing stuff I'm used to. There were long breaks in the action while the tech wandered around the salon for unspecified reasons and just left me sitting there with my feet in the water. The manicure was basic, which I expected, but I was disappointed she left polish on my cuticles. When I went up to pay, Christina told me she had misunderstood me the previous weekend and thought the salon hadn't even tried to call me but because I confirmed that my phone number was correct in their system they didn't want to take any responsibility for their failure to communicate with me about the cancelled appt. I was shocked, given that we had discussed my situation the first time and she knew they had my number correct before she gave me the voucher. She instead offered 25% off my next service but I made it clear that I was not happy with my experience and would not be returning to use the 25% off. She had no reaction to this so I just left. I definitely recommend people avoid this place.

I showed up a little early for my scheduled appointment (which had been confirmed the day before), only to find that my nail tech had given 2 weeks notice and been sent home immediately. The owner did not even acknowledge me or offer any information, leaving that to an employee. My appointment was for a special event and I was not able to get my nails done in the very special way that Mary did them. Their behavior leads me to wonder about their concern for a customer of over a year. My daughter, whose appt.. was the next day was not notified at all.

I am relatively new to the San Antonio area and was in desparate need of a haircut. I did some research into salons and found Bali Salon to be the most reasonably priced salon that was not a Supercuts-type place. I paid $45 plus tip for a wash, cut and style. The stylist that I had was given to me by the salon. Chelsey was very nice and gave me one of the best haircuts I have received in awhile. I plan to return to Chelsey and use some of their other services as well.
