This is a review of the Service dept.
TL;DR: After keeping my bike for over a month past my appt without looking at it until I complained, they charged me $850 to swap fluids and replace a battery on a bike that had just been sitting in a garage for a year. (it had been running fine) Go ANYWHERE else.

Summary: Dishonesty in scheduling/expectations, did not look at my bike until I called and complained, extortionate rates, promises made and expectations set by representatives I spoke to were broken or untrue 4 out of 5 times.

Full Details:
Called 11/1/16 for an appointment, was told the soonest they could get me in was 11/15, and to tow the bike there before that so they could start working on it as soon as their day started on the 15th.

After towing the bike there ($75) and filling out all paperwork, the girl at the desk mentions casually that they may not get to it for up to a week and a half, breaking the appointment I was promised by at least another 3 weeks (I would have gone elsewhere as I needed my bike to commute).

I heard NO WORD for 1 month. (thankfully had found another means of transportation) When I called, the voice mail box was full.

I missed a call and called right back, was promised by the guy who answered that he would find who called me. He put me on hold and never came back. Someone else picks up and asks why I'm calling. Then he asks who my service rep is. I had to laugh. He took my name and number (despite them calling) and promises to track down my papers and call me back. He never called me back.

Was finally called back on 12/15. Received token "oh sorry" as she says it will cost over $600 to change fluids plus battery cost.

She said she would call back (and did! first promise kept!) but fails to tell me the cost of the battery. Says they should have it done in 3-6 days.

Called back 12/21, told that I need a new front tire (which was not mentioned during initial $100 inspection). No way. Am told that my current total is $850.

I would give them a zero if I could. Don't bring your bike here to get worked on. They say they fixes it but no. Then they want to do a temporary fix just to get you out the door. Not to mention they had my bike over a month. I should have been able to pick it up and ride home but again no. I already sent my ride home so now I am having to wait for them to finish fixing my bike. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. DONT BRING YOUR BIKE HERE.

Alamo Cycle-Plex has very nice Motorcycles, great gear, but poor customer service. I've gone in there several times in the pass and have stood around without anyone offering to help. I dont know if the staff gets paid on commission or not but if they do, it appears they dont want to make money. Maybe the owners need to take a better look as to who theyre hiring to represent them.

"I had a very good sales person (Kenney) assisting me with the purchase of my Honda VTX 1800. He was very accommodating and helpful. His immediate boss was also very helpful and trustworthy. However, the service department lacked a lot to be desired. They had all day to install the windshield on my motorcycle and if Kenney hadn't done most of the work himself I would not have been able to leave the dealership by the 7 PM closing time."

I came across Alamo Cycle when I was shopping for a used motor cycle. They had the best prices, customer service, and accessories in the 8 dealers I contacted. After buying the bike I had it for less than a week when it broke down. I had it towed to Alamo Cycle, and they fixed it same day, and I owed nothing. They even changed the battery that I had not had problems with, but they had while fixing the bike. I cant say that I am happy with the mechanical problems I have had, but the quality of service they have provided has been next to none.
