Fabulious Place To Dine!!

This is a Restaurant you must check out for yourself & please enter your own opinion! The food is excellent. The decor is elegant & with soft music in the background. The staff & owners take personal pride in cleanliness & attentiveness! The pricing is very reasonable in co...moremparison to the better high class restaurants. Okay, the food is awesome! This establishment specializes in Mexican Cuisine but also produces some mouth watering additional dishes to tantalize your taste buds! Speaking for the \"Menu\" items Dinner for one person meal is under $8.00 plus drink, tax & tip. They have Grilled items such as Alambres, Pollo a la Parrilla & Southwest Chicken! Under Non-Grilled they offer Chile Relleno, Enchiladas even Puffy Tacos! They have much more plus the Children's Meals are $4.25. They always have additional dishes list on a board when you come in that are priced accordingly. They just had a Valentine's Day Dinner that was $15.99 plus drink, tax & tip! You should have been there! The presentation was utterly awesome!!!!!!! You had a choice of either, Prime Rib, Grilled Salmon, 10oz. Rib-Eye Steak or Breaded Stuffed ChickenBreast! Served with vegetables, potatoes, roll, self-served soup and salad, plus one complimentary Dessert! Everything was fantastic according to the customers! What did I have? My favorite Prime Rib, \"Oh so good; Oh so tender; Oh so flavorful!\" Plus the presentation was \"Out of this world!\" The self-serve area was also presented with professionalism! They did not miss a beat in perfection! No reservations were required and they was no pushing and shoving! The flow was constant and no one had to wait for seating! Outstanding job goes to Ted & Vandora Chapa, (Owners), and their mighty staff of professional people! Now back to business as usual, you can eat lunch for under $7.00 plus drink, tax & tip! This IS truly a place you need to check out! By the way they can also accommodate Luncheons, Dinner groups, Church groups including Private Buffets! Oh before I forget try their \"Fresh Lemonade\" you will want more!view less

Concerned Owner

First off to those who appreciate hard work and dedication we truely appreciate your business. For those who have nothing good to say about our restaurant we apologize for either giving you poor service or poor quality food, however if you choose to hide behind the interne...moret and are not adult enough to address the problem while at our establishment then shame on you.I guess it is not easy to speak up and say what you feel because you are either afraid or have no backbone. I will have you know that in my eight years in business I have tried very hard to please as many people as I can,But I have come to the realization that people love to bring good people down and that you just can't please everyone. Everyday we open up and try the best that we can to deliver a fresh product. We make all our products fresh daily from our sauces to our dough, but we are far from perfect as some of these lovely customers love to point out. But I challange them to try and serve the public! As for my guy with the tatoos he is loyal and honest and has never had a problem with the law he just likes body art.If you have a problem with him please speak up I know he can be tough and to the point but please understand we sometimes deal with very rude people, and it's just not easy to sit everyone at the same time because of the big parties we attract. So we apologize for any inconvenience.AS FOR THE LADY THAT HAS SLAMMED ME ON EVERY SITE POSSIBLE PLEASE COME IN AND I WILL REFUND YOUR MEASELY $8.00,BUT SO YOU KNOW A PIZZA CAN TAKE TIME TO BAKE, WE ONLY TOOK 20 MIN. TOTAL FOR YOUR COMPLETE ORDER,PLEASE TRY HARD TO TELL THE TRUTH, THERE IS MORE TO THE STORY , YOU AREN'T PRESENTING ALL THE FACTS.view less

Great Po'Boys in SA

I am not sure if many places...especially of the fast food sorts...would fit the bill for a 5-star rating. Still, Podna's Catfish and Po'Boys was an easy choice for a top rating. Having spent 6 months living in San Antonio, this place became one of my favorites. Althoug...moreh it is a place that could be easily overlooked on Austin Highway, and generally would not be fit for a 30 minute lunch if you work downtown, I found as many opportunities to go back as my co-workers would allow. The food in general is really good, but of course, you should shoot for the po'boys. My favorite was the 12\" 1/2 fried oyster, 1/2 fried shrimp. Whatever you choose, it is overflowing with meat, the roll that it comes in is fresh and the sauce that you can add on your own is great. The fries weren't necessarily my favorite, but they are still really tasty and not overly fried or salty. This is a pretty basic restaurant, and watch out for the high noon lunches, as it might be difficult to find a table. But the staff is really nice and the owner, who willingly shares about his visit to New Orleans which led to the start of his business, is definitely a friendly character. Although I was never that rushed, they even have a drive-through, and I have heard that you can call in orders and have them cater. Now, I am off to new eating adventures in Dallas, TX as a next step in my own professional pursuits, but Podna's will definitely be on my list when I take my next trip to SA. view less
