We are new to this school and I have to say I'm very impressed. I called the school to inquire about classes for my 5 year old daughter and was really impressed with the amount of care that went into her placement. I was asked why we were interested in dance, what our goals for her are, and whether she has had any training before. After really listening to her needs and our reasons for selecting ballet for her a dance teacher and class was recommended. I had initially intended to place her in a weekday afternoon class, but after being told about the teachers and hearing their best recommendations for her I chose to go with a Saturday morning class. She absolutely loves it and the teacher is fabulous. I am so pleased with the entire experience thus far and will probably add another review, or amend this one, as time goes by but I cannot say enough about the individual care we were given and how happy we are with our class placement, the staff, and the atmosphere.
While I have not been to their new school (The Quenedit Ballet School) in San Antonio, my daughter has had the honor of training with the husband-wife team of Catalina Garza and Ernesto Quenedit in Chicago for two years. If you are the parent of a serious ballet dancer, Catalina and Ernesto have to ability to train your child to a world-class level. Not only are they former international dancers, they are parents. With that, they bring a supportive, yet very rigorous teaching style into the studio. The kids respond in kind and find themselves capable of doing things they never even imagined. I always felt like I my daughter was getting incredible instruction in a safe environment. Ballet dancers in San Antonio are lucky to have such a school in their midst.
Wonderful personalized instruction. All of the dance instructors are highly qualified and genuinely interested in their students. Not only are the instructors terrific, the owner reaches out to all students and provides excellent support to his staff. My wife and I enjoy the exercise, increased personal time and learning a skill we use on a regular basis, dancing in Gruene Hall once a month or more. Partly because of the personalized instruction, my new hobby is ballroom dancing. I encourage anyone who wants to learn to dance for a single event or for a continued experience, look into this dance studio; you'll grow more than you ever expected. Charles & Mary
