If you want to try a different cuisine.....tired of Mexican, burgers or pizza all the time? Don't want that sluggish feeling ya get after eating so much pasta again? Experiment and try out some Israeli cuisine. Fresh and delicious food like sandwhiches made to the order---with even the vegetables cut/sliced fresh to order. I know this because I have seen it myself. Combinations of flavors and food items that are unique to many people, but that you will really LOVE when you go. Don't miss out on their incredible soups too! You'll want the entire batch of soup----they're that good! As a frequent customer here, I have seen new customers come in, order items they've never tried or tasted ever before, and watch them DEVOUR their plates and state how delicious the food is. Doesn't that say enough? Having coffee that's better than Starbucks doesn't hurt either! Seriously true, folks! Ya know how you can go into some places, ask them questions about their food and it's like they're annoyed with it or they just don't know? I promise you, you will NOT get that type of service here. They're happy to help, happy to explain things to you. So, just do it. Try them out. You'll thank me for the suggestion.
2. Sultan Cafe
Great place to hang out. When my friends are in town this is the first place we go to. This place has great Djs that come out to play on the weekend. And Spanky is bro when we come. Always friendly and fun to talk to!
My fiance and I went here, we ordered sandwiches (can't remember what kind) and they were amazing. We choose to sit outside and it was a very relaxing, satisfying, and TASTY way to spend lunch downtown. I can't wait to go back!!
Great ""Non-Chain"" Coffee Bar. Owners and staff are amazing and coffee is excellent. Huge variety for all. They also carry really good breakfast roles, etc...This place is pure class. Give it a try...you will not be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio. The burgers are excellent, as is the rest of the food, especially the malts! I go there frequently and my family always wants to eat there when they visit San Antonio. The food is priced quite low (and I'm a poor college student!). Mmm, …
The food use to good, but now Cafe Paladar is closed, now our best Restaurant is Meson Euroepean Restaurant, located at 927 North Loop 1604 East and Hardy Oak. It has the grilled tenderloin cut beef and the only that make ceasar salad with fresh ingredient.

25. Big Easy Cafe
The food was great! I grew up in Louisiana, and this place made me feel back at home. The food was so good that I literally ate until it hurt. The service was good, but it would have been hard not to be. It was really slow when we went and I am pretty sure the owner was our waiter. She didn…
Had coffee, a salad, pastry, and Nutella macaroons. Each bite was a delicious taste of France. Both the service and food were amazing (some of the best I have experienced in San Antonio).
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It was close to my particular home, so that was already a plus. However, the actual dining experience was a pleasure. My b/f and I read the reviews about this place. 2 good out of 3. Makes me wonder if the bad one was because they were rude customers. Anyhow, the waiter was pleasant and prompt with everything. He was polite and very attentive to our wants. He suggested his favorite and gave reviews on the dishes we actually did choose. I had the Chicken canalonni (spelling) and it was WONDERFUL. Also, the ambiance of the inside was very pleasant. Clean, sophisticated and romantic. Very tastefully decorated. I was highly impressed with it. The food, from bread, to appetizer to entree' was magnificent. The prices were also very reasonable; comparable to Macaroni grill; however, the quality of food is better here. All in all, I give it 2 thumbs up. It WILL be going into to my recommendation list and my favorites to dine. So please, don't rely on the one negative review - give it a chance.(Pardon all spelling mistakes)
We started off with deep fried onion & jalepeon pieces, (Splinters), that were the perfect balance of spiciness and flavor. The 100% ground chuck hamburger was hand formed and cooked on the griddled with a slight sear to my request for a medium burger. (most places over cook the meat and ruin the flavor) Jan'es was juicy and seasoned right. They fixed it to my speciafication of vegetables and LOTs of cheese. The waitress suggested i try they blended mustard/mayo mix which work out well. We also had hand made onion rings, and 20 ounce shakes. The shakes were made with a custom made Oak Farms ice cream, milk and natrual flavors. Mine was a Choco-banana, made with Hershey's syrup and a fresh banana.....perfect. The address was on 4200 Broadway at Hildebrand.
