Last month my wife calls me while I'm out of town, which i tend to be a lot and says the central AC was on it's last leg according to some other A/C company and it would cost $$$ amount to replace. So, while still on the road, I went to the YELLOWPAGES, skipped through all the "colorful" adds and concentrated on the "Reviews". At that time Service First had 5 reviews all being 5 stars. Well, my first thought was...they must be putting in their own reviews, but the more I thought about I said, if I were doctoring up my own reviews I'd at least put in a 4 star or 3star here or there to make it more realistic. Long story short... I called and scheduled an inspection with Sergio and Jack on the Friday I returned, they looked at my Central AC and made the same determination as the other A/C company that it was time for a new one. I said ok, what's it going to cost me and they not only gave me 3 choices (brands with warranty info on each) but really took the time to educate me on the best unit (seer rating, tonage etc...) for my 1945 constructed home, which isn't always the cheapest. In the end, I paid about $500 more than the other A/C company, but Sergio, Jack along with the rest of the crew (total of 5) were at my house that next morning (Saturday) took out my 20yr old interior unit from a hall closet (1945 house) did some major reworking of the ducts/plentum and installed the new unit in our attic. We've got a new coat closet!!!! They also removed my old exterior condensor/fan and moved the new 5ton unit to a location I wanted about 5 feet away. They finished the job at midnight! Here's the "Short" of it...they've got all 5 star ratings because they're knowledgable honest and they deliver on what they say they will do.

With a doubt, this company is the BEST A/C company in Texas. Last November 2008 my A/C unit stopped cooling. I called a local company who conducted an inspection and within 2 minutes stated I needed to replace the entire unit for $8,000! I contacted Service First for a second opinion. They came that same day and after a thorough diagnostic evaluation determined that a hard start kit could possibly restart the compressor. The part did indeed restart the compressor and for under $300 I was able to postpone buying a new unit. By the way, the first company did not even mention this as an option. This week, the compressor completely went out. I called Service First who came out within a few hours of my calling conducted another thorough assessment and determined the compressor had finally given out and was beyond repair. I decided to replace the unit and thought I would have to wait a few days to get it installed. The technicians Juan and Sergio contacted their warehouse who was about to closed and asked if someone could stay so they could pick up a new unit. In less than one hour they returned with the unit and about 2 1/2 hours later the installation was complete! I got an exceptional price and was amazed at the customer service I received. I would wholeheartedly would recommend this company to anyone without any reservations. The technicians were competent, honest, and fair and did not pressure me into making a decision about what needed to be done. I usually do not write reviews but I have rarely found this kind of customer service and felt compelled to share my experience with others.
On Monday I came home to 90 degrees in my house and 101 degrees outside. I immediately called Service First and Johnny told me he had someone in my area. This was at 7pm. At 8pm, David showed up at my door. What he found was not necessarily what I wanted to hear, the condenser had to be replaced, (we were hoping it would last through the end of summer) but he promised to have cold air blowing before he left. That is exactly what happened. David replaced the condenser and was at our home until 130am. When he called his boss to tell him what the problem was, his boss called someone else and had them open up the warehouse to be able to get the new condenser. He then called Johnny, who by the way, was at his son's football game with his family, and Johnny left the game to go pick it up and bring it over. I cannot tell you how much we appreciate what Service First did for us. I went into work the next day and right away started telling everyone what Service First did for us. In fact 2 of my co-workers think they are going to need A/C work done in the near future. I told them that if they didn't call Service First they were nuts! I have worked with several other A/C companies in the past and I can tell you that we have not received better service from any other company. Whoever came up with the companies name was right on. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You will always be "first" in our book.
