I used to like shopping in this Sport Authority store. However, 2 months ago I bought a bike from them with 2 year service. the seat came off after 1 week of riding it so I went to their bike shop to fix it. The only bike mechanic they have was extremely rude to me suggesting that it was my fault that the seat had come off. somehow he agreed to fix it, and I got it back the next day. less then in 2 weeks the seat post broke and I had to take it back to the shop. this time the guy told me I broke it on purpose and that the manager will have to clear it! After 15min of waiting the manager showed up and told the mechanic to replace the seat and the post. But I already feel unwelcome in this store even with fully paid 2 year service. It's a good place to shop for some sport goods, but I wound not recommend any one to buy any bicycles from them! If something happens, you will rack your nerve trying to have them fix your bike even with protection plan!
Not sure about the bad reviews on here. The first time I went into Gallenson's I got asked by 4 different guys in about a 2 minute time frame if I needed assistance and also they were packed busy with customers. A thing to add too is I looked like hell just coming off of a cunstruction job with dirty clothes etc. and still recieved great service. I ended up buying a .40 compact Ruger. The first time I took it out shooting it had a jamming problem so I took it in and the guy at the counter more then happily helped me and test fired the gun. I'm looking again at getting a 380 and Gallenson's is the only place I'd go. Plus the prices on guns/ammo are very competitive with the other gun shops around even Cabellas.
Sports Den has sweet gear and boot fitting. I have small feet and it's always a pain to find men's ski boots in my size. So I was pleasantly surprised when Sports Den had a 24.5 shell in stock (Salomon Quest 14's). They thermo-molded my liners and fit me with custom foot beds. They fit nice and tight just like I like them. They were a little too tight on one foot that is bigger than the other, so I went back after my first day on them and they ground out slightly the part of the shell that was pinching, and voila it was perfect. They know their boot fitting, that's for sure.
