        Have been a customer for over a decade. Have typically had good experiences but recently had a fridge delivered. They cracked a number of tiles in the delivery and are denying responsibility. The delivery person left my house without talking to me about it and deny to the company he had any wrong doing. They are denying my claim for repairs a refuse to talk to me more about it.

        Bryant, I’m sorry about the issues with your floor when our drivers delivered your refrigerator. The RC Willey claims department took every consideration to make sure we verified the facts surrounding this loss. Because there were differing accounts of what actually occurred in the home at the time of delivery from Mr. Hoopes and our delivery drivers, we decided to send out an independent adjuster to verify the damage and determine liability. I have discussed the issue with our claims department and have included the findings below: On Aug. 4th 2014 a request was sent to Empire Investigating & Adjusting to go to Mr. Hoopes home and assess the damage and determine liability if possible. Steve Lucero, an adjuster with Empire, contacted Mr. Hoopes and scheduled a day to go to the home to inspect the damage. On Aug. 7th 2014, Steve went to the customer’s home to inspect the loss. According to Steve’s report the home was built 36 years ago and the overall appearance of the property was fair. Upon inspection of the damaged tile, Steve noted that there were at least two areas where the delivery team would not have needed to go during the delivery. There were still cracked tiles in these areas. He also noted that the tiles appeared to be old and worn. Steve was unable to determine a cause of loss. We were also made aware during our investigation that there had been other people working in the home at the time of the delivery, including some movers. Any of these other individuals working in the home during this time could have caused damage to the tiles. Also, the type of damage and where the damage is at is inconsistent with moving a refrigerator. Again, there were several factors that led us to make the decision to deny this claim. First, that there were others working in the home at the time of the delivery that could have caused the damage. Second, the age and condition of the floor according to the Independent Adjuster appeared to be old and worn. Third, there was obvious cracking of tiles in other parts of the kitchen where the RC Willey delivery team would not have been working. Finally, the damage allegedly caused by RC Willey’s delivery team is inconsistent with how they moved the fridge into the customer’s home.
