I just started going here for equipment but, even though prices can be a tad high on some things, I like the place, the atmosphere and I do get employees that know their stuff. That's my biggest complaint about other stores, whether for gear or not, just finding someone that knows the product and cares. Kirkham's has many of both. I will return for sure and recommend.Share Review

I have seen other stores that have camping equipment... and most pale by comparison (Smith & Edwards is close). Kirkham's stocks a WIDE variety of supplies. You can literally walk in with nothing but desire (and money)... and leave ready to go climbing/backpacking out in the middle of nowhere.
Drawback... quality isn't cheap.
Staff is knowledgable and friendly.
We bought a Springbar tent at Kirkhams several years ago and have been very satisfied with it. The construction is good and the price was right. The showroom has lots of great stuff: backpacks, outdoor gear, clothing and, of course, tents. Many of the tents are set up so you can see how roomy they are and the staff is helpful and friendly.Provided by Citysearch
