Salem Clinic

My opinion is RUN!!! They politely have failed to perform, in every aspect. The one doctor I like and respect professionally is Dr. Burket; he is one of the better doctors I have met in OR... Dr. Akpamgbo (and I use the title with the greatest of unease) was 2 hours behind, came in wearing heels and designer pants, then poked the top of my shoulder asking if it hurt. Nevermind the 2" incision scar 6" down from where she looked. At first, I had to look at her in disbelief, because it's horribly obvious, then when I told a proclaimed doctor where to look, she jumped suddenly, then almost ran to the computer to refer me to someone else, which is exactly what I asked for during 5 calls prior.

I truly believe, in my soul, that if it were up to her early recognition of a potentially terminal illness, then I would need to get my affairs in order... Salem Clinic staff will be VERY polite, but I've been waiting 2 months for a psych referral. I view it like getting customer service on the phone from another country (very nice, repeats what you just told them, then either doesn't accomplish anything or ends up making it worse). Being as how I made their staff aware I was in enough distress to skip meals for days on end and contemplated the least painful way to end it... Salem Clinic's response? I have been referred to their "counselor" for 2 months who I was assured, politely, that will refer me to a psychologist. I find this unprofessional, and they are in no way qualified to recognize someone in crisis (if I were where I was 9 months ago, this review would not have been written). Both the counselor and Akpamgbo are just as likely to misdiagnose and get someone killed as to refer them to a genuine professional that could treat them, if my opinion matters. The only response I believe will come is for them to try and go after me legally.

Presently, I am seeking a lawyer and alternative means of treatment. The way they "politely" write people off is deplorable. If asked, I would tell someone to save themselves and go somewhere else.
