Had an appointment to take delivery of a new yamaha 242 limited E series, but that didnt stop the sales person Christopher embler to have someone else when i got there so it took us 1hour of waiting so he could finish with that customer, never even wanted to show me the actual boat i was getting, after multiple attempts of me asking him to show me my actual boat. He just points in the direction and says is over on the other side of the road if you wanna go look at it, NEVER showed me anything on the operation of the boat, also didnt tell me the boat came with no life jackets, no first aid kit, no emergency signals,no ANQUER?

First time ever on the water boat has a check engine light on, NO im not making this up. A check engine light, and only one of the engines was working and turning on, after multiple phone calls to barneys and Christopher the only thing i got was. Hey i will have someone call you on monday, NEVER received a phone call from anyone.

Requested a price quote for a ...

Requested a price quote for a new jet ski through their website. It took about 3 days for the sales person to finally get back to me and quote a price. I attempted to negotiate a better price and he said he had to check with his manager and he would call me back. It's been a week and I still haven't heard back from the sales person.

Sales Mgr Jeff is a lying thief!

Jeff, your editorial is a cover up for your incompent company which employs you. You obviously are the thief as the owner Ray is a good man. I made a purchase recently, was quoted one price by you Mr. Jeff and was charged $400 more than what you advised me. The unit was brand new, yet scratched, and your sales rep advised me well it is on sale. Oh it's nothing. Lol.

The tires were dirty after it was suppose to be washed, the kick start was scratched and looked used. Your staff is sucky sucky until you pay, then it's a screw you attitude. As stated Ray did not establish this company for you to lie, belittle, and thieve from customers. I know many who have had good and unpleasant experiences at Barney's, perhaps you Mr. Hieber are the problem, and perhaps Ray should replace you. Your staff is representative of their manager.

I won't purchase from there again, as you were dishonest in your quote, and I feel taken advantaged of.

The Jag

Slow and unefficient.

Terrible customer service and rude employees. If your looking for quick and efficient service this is NOT the place!!

Barneys of StPete and Brandon ...

Barneys of StPete and Brandon both suck! Everyone needs to stay away. I was in the Stpete store ready to buy and I couldnt get on sales persons attention to help me, and there was plenty just walking around.

Brandon store was no different, I went there to purchase a used bike, when I discovered a bait and switch on the price the punk manager TJ basically told me tough S***. It wasnt until the Hillsborough consumer affairs getting involved until they then would sell me the bike I was looking at. Not to mention the "I dont need you attitude" from the punk manager. Claimed that he could sell this bike immediately, funny it was still there upto a few weeks ago.

So do your self a favor, go somewhere else, St.Pete Power Sports, Fletcher HD, or Clearwater Power Sports. Barney just down right sucks!

Repair Shop is a Fraud

I brought my jet boat in for a starter relay and some misc issues and they came back with $3000 in repairs, several of which were fraudulent because THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE.

$210.00 dollars for an oil change and spark plugs. I called and asked to speak to the G.M. I asked right away how they justified and oil change and changing out the spark plugs and charging $210.00. That seemed steep to me. I had just moved here from somewhere else and was not happy about it. Dude started screamin at me on the phone. I apologized for using his business and told him I would not again. I am still shaking my head.....oh yeah , somebody did something to my clutch and it does not go into first until the clutch is almost all the way out. Would have loved to talk to the guy about it, but I don't deal with people who scream....Looking for an alternate bike shop in the area. Bye Bye Barney

Best Powersports dealership In the Tampa area!

Ok, lets start out by talking about what your reading, a perceived customer review right? Well Thats not always the case. You see many ""lower class"" dealerships try to deceive others in to believing that there competition has a bad rap while there looking like gods according to the Internet reviews posted online for them self's. Well lets break it all down. When was the last time you had a good experience at lets say ""any"" business. If you did, did you go on to the Internet, log in, sign up a goggle account and leave positive feedback about that business?? I bet not. The fact is almost no one does. Now turn that around and if you were really upset or had gotten screwed out of your hard earned money, you now just might. Many ""lower class"" dealerships have had to resort to things like reputation defender and other programs to hide there high concentration of bad reviews. They spend around $5000.00 per year to hide the truth from you, the consumer. Here's the skinny, when you see a business that has had a few bad reviews compared to the thousands of customers they have service there's no reason for alarm. But on the other hand, the fakes are easy to see and here's how. As I mentioned earlier, happy people rarely ever post positive reviews, we all expect to get good service when we are handing our hard earned money over to another. Look for the high number of so called ""good"" reviews, Thats the ticket here. When business are trying to hide there reputation they pay for services that do automatic postings to ""push down"" bad reviews and appear like they are the best. No one has 50+ positive reviews in a matter of weeks or even years for that matter. So the next time your looking at reviews, remember that what you see is not always what you get.

the "big box" store of bikes & jet ski's

A huge store means huge overhead, so expect to burn stomach acid when going for parts and service.

I was having problems getting my carbs off a '93 sportbike so took it in to have them pulled, a gas leak fixed and sync. job.

The first red flag was a jet ski owner back for his 3rd attempt (after already dropping $2,000) to get his water toy running right. "Third time is the charm" he was told.

The second flag was when I was told that they usually don't service bikes over 10 years old, but the service manager would take a look.

After over 30 minutes of waiting, the manager looked, said he couldn't take it because it was over 10 years old and the shop was too busy. I assume, if the shop wasn't busy with the new stuff they sold, they'd have time for the old stuff they didn't sell. Dang .... must be nice.

I was provided with the number and map of another shop to take it to. Called the shop, and it was a fax machine. Went back in to borrow a phone book or get the right number, was told to please wait, and after another 10 minutes with no one in sight, decided to leave. After a long drive I reached the recommended shop, it was closed.

After getting parts/tires there for the last few years, I've decided they need to spend the last dollars from me slowly.

It's time to find a reliable service department that can still work on something non-fuel injected, and spend my parts money there.
