I would give Father and Sons a negative rating if I could. We recently bought a new a/c system from them. The inside unit is fine, but the outside unit is covered with damage on all sides. They refused to replace it. Is it common practice to sell damaged units as new?!?! We called within an hour or two of them leaving - as soon as we noticed the damage. First they tried to blame it on me and then on the manufacturer, Goodman. The Goodman rep came out to look at it and actually told us that he would have to open 10 new ones to find one with less damage. No matter, the installer should have seen the damage and gotten us an undamaged one. Our 16 year old Goodman unit with a very open wire cage had almost no damage, while the brand new one with a much more enclosed cage has damage on all sides?!?! Neither the Goodman rep nor the company had any response to that. After I said that we wanted a new unit, the rep said that the company could resell the damaged unit! The company has finally blown me off. I am having to take them to small claims court to resolve this. What a total shame. If I were an elderly person with poor vision, I would have never noticed ... until it broke down, which would most likely be after the labor warranty expired. A few days after the install while we were not at home, they tried to cover up / fix the damage through the openings of the cage, but it didn't help. When we asked how badly the coils were damaged considering how much damage was on the fins, the company stated, well it's under warranty. Sure it is for the first year. After that it's parts only and of course labor is the most expensive thing. I worked for an a/c supplier many years ago and we never would have sold such a damaged unit as new. In 40 years I have never dealt with a company less willing to stand behind it's products and services. All I can say is buyer beware! Update 5/8/12 I had to file a complaint with the BBB but this company has provided a 10yr parts and labor warranty on this a/c unit and have stood behind their products.

Got home late and found that my AC wasn't working. Was 90 degrees in the house. Called Forest Air after looking them up on this site. Danny answered (who I think is the owner) and was really nice and professional. He said that they couldn't come out at that time because they didn't have anyone available, however, he tried to trouble shoot the problem on the phone to see if it would help! When it didn't work, he set me up with a service call for first thing in the morning. The repairman was Steve. Again, VERY professional, courteous and friendly. He really knew what he was doing and took care of the job quickly. He then did a quick check to see if everything else was ok, found it was and gave me some good advice on filters etc. VERY honest guy! The price was very reasonable and if I could rate the company with more than 5 stars, I would. I will definitely use them again for any AC or heating issues. Also I am a big believer in sticking with honest, dependable companies as well as feeling very comfortable recommending them to my friends and co-workers.
Of course, the AC didn't go out until after 5 on a Friday. The service tech, Wendall was at our home around 10:30 am on Saturday. He got us all cooled down!! He was very helpful in making recommendations and completely checking the unit out. We will definately use "Gator" in the future, if need be. The service charge was more than fair. Gator rates as #1 on our list...we highly recommend them. Very professional and efficient! BettyA
