Pediatric Care

Primary Care
As your primary care clinic we are responsible for delivering and coordinating all of your health care needs. Each insurance policy is unique with referral requirements. After a physician at Central Pediatrics has referred you to a specialist, please check with your health plan to see if a referral is necessary.
Emergency Care
Our services are designed to optimize the health and happiness of children of all ages, from newborn babies to young adults. As part of our family, you will experience the added convenience of urgent care by appointment on weekdays, evenings and weekends for urgent needs like fevers, sore throats, earaches and injuries that don’t require a visit to the ER. Our lab and x-ray services enable thorough exams right here in our offices. You receive additional peace of mind from our extended office hours and 24/7 availability by phone.
Immunizations
If you have questions about immunizations, our board-certified pediatricians are happy to help. Vaccine information handouts are available here at the CDC website.

Ophthalmologists

Eye Exam
The services performed will vary depending on the child’s age and other factors. If your child is receiving any of these services from another healthcare provider (such as already having had an eye exam at the eye doctor), let us know at the beginning of your visit. Occasionally, an insurance plan will not pay for some of these services.

Internal Medicine
We continue to care for a number of college age adults when home from school, but as your child reaches adulthood we suggest that they begin seeking a physician that can meet their “adult” medical needs. The area of medicine that specializes in adult health care is called Internal Medicine. It is important to contact your insurance company to make sure that the physician you choose is a provider with your insurance company.

Autism
At each visit, your child will be measured. Height, weight and head circumference for babies will be recorded on a growth chart. Age appropriate screenings such as health and safety, autism, mental health, cholesterol, and anemia may be offered. The pediatrician will examine your child, discuss important health issues such as sleep, nutrition, elimination, and behaviors as well as talk about developmental milestones. Immunizations are an important way to keep your child healthy. We’ll explain which ones are needed at each visit. This is a great time for us to get to know your family. We are happy to guide you through any questions you may have.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Sometimes during a Well Child visit, we may address an illness or problem such as abdominal pain or headaches. Also, sometimes we manage a previously diagnosed health problem like asthma or ADHD. These problems are not a routine part of preventative care. When this happens, we report these illnesses or problems to your insurance company and may bill an additional charge. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be responsible for a balance (co-pay or deductible). View our health insurance guide here.

We screen our patients during well visits to assess their mental health. We offer assistance when habits, behaviors, stress, worry or emotional concerns about physical or other life problems are interfering with a person’s daily life or overall health. Behavioral Health
We address the full spectrum of our patients’ needs. In addition to general pediatric care, our patients also have access to Lactation Consultants and Behavioral Health Specialists right within the clinic.

Radiology
X-rays taken in our office are sent to Children’s Hospital Radiology to be read by a Radiologist. You will receive a separate bill from Children’s Hospital Radiology for these services. View our health insurance guide here.
