I just got my haircut this week and was told by James about the bad experience he had with some of the Groupon customers. He precceded to tell me of these women coming in saying things ike,"I'll take your card, but I could never afford to come back", "I use Suave in my hair, so save your spiel",and "I just want what is on the Groupon, don't try and sell me anything else". He went on to say some of them don't even leave gratuity which is etiquette 101! The woman below is clearly upset about being charged for a blow-dry. It baffles me that she would not talk to James when she came in. Why would she come in if her daughters hair was butchered? I find it disheartening that the private owners who bring alot of tax dollars to St. Louis get beat up because someone is to cheap to pay alittle extra to support their business'. I know that james is involved in about 200 different charities and has rescued OVER 100 dogs from being euthanized. He is very fair when approached with respect. I am a huge fan of the salon and i always get a good cut (except once when he forgot my sideburns-so what). I asked him how many people come in and out of the door a month and I was shocked to hear over 2000! He must be doing something right, he is looking at expanding for the fifth time! Ladies....lighten up, insist on talking to James if there is a issue. I hated hearing these stories coming out of his mouth and I want to remind people that there are two sides to every story, and then the truth.
So it used to take me FOREVER to style my hair after I showered. I would have to put product in, blow dry it for a ridiculously long time, more product, flat iron the heck out of it, more product, etc. It was a long process to try and straighten my hair and reduce the frizziness. Well, I have been a long time client of Preston Salon. I told the stylist I wanted to chop my hair off because of the length of time it takes me to style it. I rarely did my hair. I always just threw it up. Steven (owner) convinced me to try a new process he has that told me would drastically reduce the amount of time it took me to fix my hair. It is the Keratin Process. A week later, I was scheduled and ready to go. Angela is the one who did the treatment on my hair. People's hair is made of Keratin and the process simply puts Keratin back in your hair. Anyway, the first time I washed my hair, I began to blow dry it. Not even kidding, it took 5 minutes to blow dry! I did not need any product, I did not need to flat iron my hair, I could even leave it damp and it stayed styled! Since then, I have not worn my hair up! I fix my hair all the time and receive tons of compliments on how soft, shiny, and not frizzy my hair is! This is a revolutionary hair process and I HIGHLY recommend it if it takes you a long time to do your hair! It is the best thing I have ever done for my hair and love every minute of it.
I've been converted! I'm a Mommy and never understood why people would spend the time or money to make a salon appt. when you can just run into Great Clips. BUT NOW I KNOW. A friend (with great hair) recommended Preston to me and the experience was amazing. Having my hair washed by Momma was like getting a massage. And then Steven did wonders with my hair. He asked me about my routine and everything and I told him it had to be wash & go. He spent a long time and it felt like he gave each hair special attention. And the final result was awesome! I felt like a movie-star or something. And even better, then next day I washed my hair and just ran my fingers through and it was still awesome. I was so impressed, I took Steven's advice and went back the next week for color with Antonio. He listened well, but I didn't know what I wanted. Just something different. Well he put three different colors into my hair including a bright orange. It sounds crazy, but I love it! It's so fun and hip. He knew what I wanted even though I couldn't tell him. And he was so nice. So now I'm hooked. Such a difference. SO worth it! They make getting your hair done enjoyable, like a special treat, instead of another errand. Thank you guys so much!
