VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars)

I love then go there on Thursday night we need to open this hall back up if anybody likes bingo they need to come to this hall is it a fun friendly atmosphere and the bar drinks are cheap and strong please open our bingo hall back up

Well I dont blame the vfw for charging. I am a marine veteran and we have served our country honorably and made sacrafices and put our lives on the line for our country and you want to complain about helping veterans. What a joke. Maybe you shouldnt play volleyball there. Get real and learn to get behind your veterans and support them and say thank you.

I play sand volleyball at this VFW Post in a Summer League. This is my second Summer playing here and things have gone down hill. This place has 4 sand volleyball courts and the VFW will not allow anyone to bring in bottles of water (bought elsewhere, brought in jugs from home, cups, etc.). We play in the sweltering heat of the St. Louis Summer and they have told us that we are not allowed to bring in any outside drinks. I can understand not allowing beer in as they do sell it and my team and I realize they sell bottled water also, but I speak for my team and numerous other teams that play there when I say everyone thinks this is ridiculous. We play double-header games which means playing for 2 hours straight. If we were to go ahead and buy their water, we’d be broke by the end of the season. We already pay about $35/person to play there for each session, so being forced to fork out more money for WATER is insane. As of last week they’ve decided they would have a jug of water filled up outside their window for everyone, but in order to get water out of it, you are forced to BUY a clear plastic cup in order to fill up your drink. In no way is this economical, reasonable, or environmentally friendly. The cups blow everywhere and the water doesn’t stay cold. Between games it is a pain to have to go up to the window to refill your tiny water cup every time. Additionally, even if we wanted to buy their bottled water, they don’t take credit/debit cards, so you are forced to pay an outrageous fee at their ATM if you don’t carry cash. This is 2011, what kind of a bar/sporting establishment doesn’t take credit cards these days? We just don’t understand how a place can have 4 sand volleyball courts and not allow people to bring their own jugs of water from home or provide free water. When we asked for ice, we were told they didn’t think they had ice there and would have to check to see if they had any back there. Inside the VFW is a bar. Of course they have ice. The workers in the VFW bar are rude and inconsiderate of their customers. My team and I will not be returning to play volleyball here next session. Water should be free. Period.
