Our condo assn switched to Smith Management about 6 months ago, and the improvements are such a relief. The billing errors on our account were finally corrected, the lawnmowers finally started doing their job correctly, and the grounds look so much better. Many of our neighbors were really starting to let their places go, leaving personal items and trash in the halls and on their patios, but this is also being cleaned up, there is a big improvement. The property manager is very easy to talk to and seems to really know what she is doing. I am very happy our board made this change. We would like to see more features on the website, like a message board for residents, but at least I can get our bylaws now for free, and we can also pay our dues online which is really nice.
This is a follow up on the review I left previously. It was finally fixed in July and I was not billed for the service. Also, Deanna Reed contacted me to see if they could make it right. This has gone a long way to repair my perception of the company and the transition they are going through seems to be paying off!
Thanks SM!
I live in a loft downtown at the Meridian Building. I have contacted Smith Managent on a few occassions to fix some issues. Here are the results:
1.) Washer floods and floods unit below me. Quick response to cleanup and checked neighbor's unit for me. Found out drain below washer is malfunctioning.
2.)Drain Pan under washer/dryer leaking on to neighbor's ceiling:
-Made an appointment in March, No Call, No Show.
-Made an appointment in April. Repairman was extremely friendly and polite. Didn't fix it correctly, more water in neighbor's unit.
-Called to have fixed correctly in June. Repairman shows up approximately 6 hours late. Doesn't have time to fix, just trys to re-route air conditioner hose (which uses this drain) unsuccessfully.
To date: (6/22) still not fixed. Unable to install washer until fixed. No laundry in my unit. Using coolers and buckets to catch condensation from A/C. Still waiting on callback since I have paid to have it fixed already. Also have left messages and finally got ahold of someone via e-mail.
A representative let me know they are going through a transitional period. One of the maintenance coordinators and one of the repairmen I have dealt with previously are no longer with the company (!).
Maybe they can turn things around...not impressed with my experiences.
