Service ruined the whole experience.

I wish I had something good to say about Rooster, but I don't. I love Bridge Tap Room and think that the service there is wonderful. The same cannot be said for Rooster. I went in this morning for breakfast and didn't even make it to the food part of the dining experience.

When I walked in, I wasn't greeted initially, which is just a terrible way to start off. I stood in the doorway for maybe a minute, which doesn't seem like a long time, but run a test: go to your favorite places and see how long you stand there (feeling dumb) before someone says hello. I bet its less than 20 seconds. That's why you like those places, because you feel welcome. Rooster did not make me feel welcome.

I was told to seat myself, which is kind of d?class? as well, but it happens i guess. I sat myself at one of the available tables and waited. No one approached the table for a few minutes (in my parting conversation with the defensive waiter, i said I said I was there ten minutes, which is probably an overstatement, but it felt like a really long time. Again, not feeling welcome AT ALL). Finally a waiter approached, but by this time I had already googled other places to get breakfast. As I gave my reason for leaving, the waiter actually said, ""Well I?m ready now"" HAHAH! That was the best part, thank God the server was ready to take my order, maybe I?ll stay?um no thanks. He also challenged my perception of how long I had been sitting there (admittedly maybe the ten minute estimate was too long, but still, I sat there long enough to get upset AND find a new place to eat). He also got super defensive about my complaints. Whatever. There are too many places downtown to eat to ever go back to Rooster, which is sad because their food reviews look really good. Too bad the same can't be said for the service.

Great brunch place

Rooster is a great place for weekend brunch. The crepes are excellent and there's a wide variety of Bloody Marys.

Wonderful Lunch Spot

What a great lunch restaurant!!! The crepes are absolutely fantastic. This little restaurant is tucked away on Locust - be sure to look for it, it is worth finding.
