- Established in 1954, the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District is a public organization that offers stormwater management, interception and waste water collection services. It serves the sewer maintenance needs of more than 1.5 million individuals and maintains over 505,000 commercial, industrial, and single-family and multifamily residential accounts. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District operates more than five waste water treatment facilities that treat nearly 330 million gallons of sewage water daily. It is responsible for sanitary sewer maintenance, industrial waste monitoring, sewer lines rehabilitation and the issuance of pretreatment discharge permits. Additionally, the organization also provides flood water control, water pump station operation and connection permits issuance services. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District is located in St. Louis.
