No sophistication in this place…..Evenings are on the TRASH side… especially in the bar…

I am impressed with Crusoes and the new Irish Pub they built on the back called Patrick Mckeanes. The restaurant has been around for thirty years and still does not miss a beat on their service and food. The food is always good and you can never leave the place with an empty stomach. In addition, they just built a new Irish pub on the back which is named after the owner (who I have meet several of times because he is walking around) son and brother in law who are passed. It has the essentials for a good irish time. My Guinness seems to be full and I don't seem to be paying as much as other pubs i have been to. I enjoy this independent south city restaurant and would recommend it if you are in the area.

I had my last meal the other day at Crusoe's. They have lost my business permanently. It was food to go and when I opened it up...the potatoes were just slopped onto the chicken. The chicken pieces were inferior in that there was little actual meat on it....just bones. Frankly it was flavorless and most of it was thrown in the garbage. These people do not care and it is obvious to me now. Some people open a restaurant because they have a thought that they want to provide quality. The owners of Crusoes are not interested in quality. They are interested in making as much money as possible and are happy to go cheap on food, etc. They have receieved the last dollar from me.

Cruoses is the classic example of what happens when owners & managers get arrogant. The food is inconsistent, at best. It ranges from good to bad and usually its at the lower end. The new 'Irish Pub' is not that at all....its a sports bar. I guess they've never been in an Irish pub. Meals and conversations are consistently disturbed by the blasting of rap music from the juke box. I'm not accustomed to dining or conversing w/ the 'F' bombs springing from the juke box during the day or early evening. After 10:00 p.m. the place is a freak show. Finally management needs to find someone w/ sense to schedule staff. I was there for the NFL Championship sunday and for Valentine's day and they had only one person staffed for the 'irish pub.' This girl was busting her back-side to keep up and there was just no way she could have. That is a management issue, not a bartender issue. Overall the place has gone down the tubes.

This is the best home style food I have eaten in a long time. Service was great and atmosphere was comfortable. They have everything from salads, to burgers, to steaks. Their menu also includes pasta's, sandwiches, and home cooked meals. You can not go into this place and come out with a empty stomach. It's a family owned restuarant that has been around for twenty-seven years. Affordable food and rememberable times. Once you go you will fall in love with it and I recommend this place to everyone I meet. They also serve breakfast on Saturday's and Sunday's! Also visit there bar, its a fun place to be at.

This quaint restaurant tucked away in a residential neighborhood in South St. Louis is a pearl amongst thorns. It has existed where others have failed. It's well worth the search to find it,

This little neighborhood bar is the best I've ever found. It actually divides in smoking from it's non-smoking(TRULY AMAZING for St. Louis) and it was clean and inviting. The food was wonderful and the service was better than my mom at a Christmas dinner. Although the space is a little small, in the summer they have a huge patio open for really nice outdoor eating. The history of the neighborhood and surrounding area only add to the wonderful atmosphere of the great dining experience. If you go, you have to have the SMOKEHOUSE burger, it's the best thing I've ever eaten in a bar in my life. Pub fair is usually just OK, but this was awesome. OH, and the bathrooms are not dingy, they are suprisingly clean and well stocked.
