- General Info:
- The Children's Home Society of Missouri was established in 1891 as an adoption agency offering shelter, care and placement for orphaned or homeless children. In the early 1980's, the services were expanded to include care for children with significant, multiple developmental disabilities. This care is provided both in residential and short term programs based on the needs of the child and family. The Children's Home Society of Missouri serves children and their families from locations in St. Louis and St. Charles. Last year the Home provided over 9,700 days of service in our residential program at our Brentwood site and an additional 2,500 days in St. Charles. Our short-term program supported children and families with 405 days of service in Brentwood and 150 days in St. Charles. For the children in our residential program, the Children's Home is HOME. In our short term program, parents and families know there is a place for temporary care to support them when they need it and provide meaningful experiences for their children. In our adoption programs, the placement of a child or a sibling group in a permanent, loving home is the ultimate success. **St. Charles Home*** 2424 Muegge Road, St. Charles, Mo 63303

- Our Adoption Programs reach out to all who are in need of a permanent home. Traditional infant placements, private adoptions and international adoptions are all available. In addition, our placement of older children (ages 7-15) and siblings groups of two or more children in permanent homes has proven to be one of our most successful programs for both children and parents. In both the Residential and Short Term Respite Programs, criteria for admission include profound developmental disabilities and non-ambulatory status. Medications and treatments are administered by nurses who also provide medical oversight. The facilities are staffed by nurses and direct care providers who focus on daily living, recreational activities and outings The Children's Home is open and fully staffed 24 hours a day, with a least one nurse on staff at all times. **How You Can Help** The care and services we provide to children and their families are dependent upon the generosity of the comm unity. Although the Children's Home does receive revenues from state and local funding sources, the monies do not cover the cost of the care and services. In order to continue to provide the care and services to children and their families, we need the financial and in-kind assistance of individuals and organizations like you. Continued support from our community is vital to our mission and continued operation.
