I walked into this place and was immediately impressed by the atmosphere. I felt like I was at a resort hotel restaurant. The decor was amazing and the service from the front desk to the floor staff to the cooking staff was simply amazing. The variety of food was great starting from the left side there were a tons of different hot sea foods from different flavored shrimps, fresh oysters, duck, frog legs, veggie rolls, chicken, sea food salads, deserts, onto different sushi rolls and sushi-mi. They even have Mongolian BBQ where you can pick your meats (crab, beef, chicken etc), pasta, veggies, etc and they'll cook it up for you on the grill right there in front of you. The cooks behind the buffet display were constantly putting out fresh food and were there to answer questions if needed. This was all for about $12 for dinner buffet. I can tell you I hate buffets, especially the Golden Coral or PonderGrosa (Disease and health hazards waiting to happen) but you can't beat this place. Try it out, you will not be disappointed! =D
The food at Guo Bin is quite delicious, however, the service isn't exactly customer focused. On my last visit, the owner submitted their daily batch of credit card sales before all customers were finished. When it was time to pay our bill we were told we would have to wait 20 minutes to pay by credit or we could pay by cash. With $1 short of cash in our pockets, we were told to go to an ATM or wait the 20 minutes. Why didn't they ask us to pay early? Or, why didn't they wait until all diner's were finished with their dining experience before they submitted their batch? That wasn't made clear to us either and we never received an apology for our inconvenience. Late night diner's beware: although they close at 10:30 on a Saturday night, their credit system closes at 10:15 and bring cash or you'll find yourself driving to an ATM to find some.
I am not normally a fan of chinese restaurants because of the scare of the meat they are rumored to sell. However, my sister always visits this one particular Chinese restaurant. She has moved to the other side of town but continues to go out of her way, whenever she has a "chinese food" craving. I took the chance one day and decided to "try" it out. I was so suprised and shocked when I walked in the restaurant. It smelled like bleach. Not too heavy, but just enough to see it was clean. The walls were clean, the floor was mopped and the inside of the cooking area was very clean. They even rated an A under the Board of Health Certificate. Not to mention the food was extremely good and the vegetables were fresh. I would recomment this Chinese Restaurant to anyone who wants a really good and CLEAN environment.
