I received a postcard in the mail advertising this company. Never heard of the company before, but my mother is elderly (in her 90's) and needs help getting about, cleaning the house, etc. I had a consultation with a gentleman named Josh (one of the owners? owner? "Family owned"). Josh's title is General Manager. Josh was very formal, educated, and really helped me feel at ease about providing services to my mother. He explained this company to me- how it works, etc. We set up a schedule and discussed the cost. Then they sent out an assistant to work with my mother. The assistant, Kyle, was on time (as discussed with "Josh" previously). Long story short, Kyle continues to assist my mother three times a week. This agency is CHEAPER than the other home care companies out there. And BELIEVE ME I checked. I am thrilled with the services this company provides. They even do yard work for those days when my mom wants her yard spruced up. I can only imagine how helpful this agency is to other families who want their parents, brothers and sisters, etc., to remain out of assisted living facilities.
Memory Care Home Solutions is a nonprofit organization that exists to extend and improve quality time at home for families caring for a loved one with memory loss, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Founded in 2002, and later funded through a generous grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health, Memory Care Home Solutions fills an in-home support and training void for caregivers. A Memory Care professional trains the family and professional caregiver team regarding safety of the living environment and provides strategies for addressing behavioral, independence and caregiver stress-related issues. Follow-up conferences and visits from Memory Care staff extend the service over the continuing years of the patient’s time at home. Washington University in St. Louis collaborates with the organization to evaluate outcome success. No diagnosis is necessary and services are made available regardless of inability to pay through individual donations and grant funding.
The owner of Caring Is My Calling provided care to our parents. The skills demonstrated were exemplary and every detail of their care was carefully attended to and managed. They also served as the primary communicator to Hospice managers assigned to our parent's case and we received many compliments from Mercy Hospice group on her efficiency and attention to detail related to our parent's daily condition and care. The Caring group is well versed in acute care and high qualified to manage patients requiring multiple and progressive levels of caregiving. Finally, her experience and positive attitude allowed our parents to remain in their home until her death while providing companionship, a superb quality of life, and peacefulness with her loving demeanor and care.
