About Search Results

YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

Sandwich shops are a dime a do...

Sandwich shops are a dime a dozen, but Snarf's is worth at least a quarter. Cheesy? Sure, but it's true! We ducked in on a cold January day to warm up and try out the food. We shared their broccoli cheese soup and an Italian sandwich to delightful effect. The soup was creamy and filled with little cubed potatoes that warmed us up nicely. It came with toasted, seasoned bread that was far better than what I was expecting from a small sandwich shop. I appreciate that the Snarf's folks know the first rule of soup: hot, crusty bread is better than old crackers. The Italian sandwich was my husband's choice. I generally don't go for sandwiches with more than one type of meat on them, and this one has four: Salami, Pepperoni, Capicola and Mortadella. But, with the toasty bread, provolone, onion, seasoning, tomato, hot peppers, pickles and crunchy lettuce it was just right. Given that they also add mayo, mustard and oil to all their sandwiches you'd think that the insides would get gooey. But, the sandwich arts are not lost on Snarf's employees. They make sure the inside is soft but not sloppy. If you're tired of Subway and Penn Station you should give Snarf's a shot. Not only will you not be disappointed, you'll see Snarf's in your sweet, sweet dreams.

How WONDERFUL !!! This place makes McArthur's Bakery seem like a vending machine. Everything is just perfect in every way. They are not trying to be "all things to all people". Cakes, Small Pies & Cookies to start. Light & tasty and the look of an "ARTIST". I am a product of the south, These people are "very Kind" and more helpful than you will get anywhere. ,I felt so welcome here that it was hard not to return 5 minutes later, be treated like gold. Oh! Ans\\d they talk to you, not down to you !! Like most Retail operation, they work harder on "Sales Prevention" and make you feel like they are doing you a favor just letting you purchase something from them.. WELL NOT THIS PLACE !!! And sorry, no blank looks. It is small but I think just a start.. Prices are great for fresh baked goods or I should say the same as the Major grocery stores. { If you like that kind of stuff ) "CHOKE & HACK "... Not me, I like myself!!! But when they run out, Thats it for the day !!! THAT"S FRESH !! Hours 7 to 3...."That's not bad. I reckon It gives them a life"

Black Bear Bakery

Do you know the name of your baker?

If you buy your bread from anywhere else you might not. At Black Bear, it takes little effort to make a friend and purchase local, organic, hand-made bread. Since '98, the owners of Black Bear (who are also the bakers) have been rising to the occasion with specialty breads you didn't even know you liked such as Olive-Rosemary and Cranberry-Date-Pecan Pestalozzi. If you're into more traditional breads, the palpable smell of Lickhalter Rye will bring a hearty smile to the most skeptical patrons. Don't forget about delicious Pumpernickle bagels, granola and an abundance of pastries for breakfast and parties. The lunch cafe offers buttermilk cornmeal pancakes, blackbean burgers, arugula salads and more freshness to discover. Vegan isn't relegated to an option but a depth of offerings. My local purveyor of bread is Justin and he's always smiling and eager to share a story or inform me of some freshly baked wares. Increase your awareness, expand your love for the bottom of the food pyramid. www.blackbearbakery.org

Friendly Service - love the new layout

I've been meeting a friend for breakfast here once a week for the past 3-4 years. I'm there right after they open and the staff has always been very courteous and helpful. They remember names of those that are regulars and it feels more like a family run restaurant than a chain because of the genuine interest they have for their customers. They recently renovated the place to match the standard layout of other Panera stores in St.Louis. The look is much more open and provides more seating for eat-in diners. There always seems to be someone walking around picking up dishes and wiping off tables to make sure things stay clean and tidy. They offer the normal Panera bread stuff and everything is always tastes like it's freshly made. For these reasons, this is my favorite Panera in town!

Great Donuts

I enjoy Krispy Kreme donuts now that we can get them in St.Louis, but I grew up eating donuts from neighborhood bakeries. When I want old fashioned donuts that taste fresh, I always go to McArthur's Bakery in Kirkwood. It's not a big place, but they have some tables you can sit at in the back and visit with friends or family over coffee and donuts. Their prices are reasonable and they usually have lots of other tasty treats to tempt you if you are not a donut freak like me. Stop in sometime!!

An Oasis

I was in St. Louis for a week for the Nazarene Youth Conference in July 07, and we were always hungry at night after the general session. Just for us, Jimmy John's stayed open late the whole week, so we'd feast on their subs almost everynight. It was the best value in the area. Their subs were delicious, and their employees were great! We ate subs from there five times in the week. My favorites: The Italian subs, and the Gargantuan. The Slims were also a good add-on. Thanks Jimmy John's!

The bakery goods are wonderful for the most part. Oatmeal cookies are not cooked enough. Just stopped by with a buy one get one free sandwich coupon and ordered 2 Trio subs @ $5.04 each and picked up a small bag of cookies marked $1.35. I was charged $8.34. While I waited, I realized that was too much. When I asked the guy at the deli counter, he asked for my receipt. He didn't give me one, so I had no proof. I told him I felt cheated and walked out.

i do love the taste of every cake iv ever tried from here and so when it came time to order my baby shower cake i was more than excited..always expensive but worth every cent spent. I went all out and got the huge cake and half white half chocolate with cherry filling and it tasted absolutely wonderful...but one bad thing they do fail at almost every time..the colors you pick...if you want it perfect go to McArthur's..just not on lemay ferry.

the family special is so good and cheap

you get a sandwich, a full loaf of garlic bread, a half lb. of pasts, and a huge salad for around $22.00. the food is amazing the price is great and for that price we fed 7 people (4 adults, 3 children) and had left overs for the next day. They also do large orders. they did the food for my wedding (around 200 people) and we order from them for various different parties (10-30 people). everybody loves p'sghetti's!!!

great stuff

Must of been an off day because I love the multi-grain whole wheat bread and buy it weekly. I've been going to Lubeley's since moving to St. Louis a few years ago and love the place. My friends always ask me to bring stuff to Chicago when I visit because there is nothing there like this place. Love the cherry chrispies and fudgies too. Also, best gooey butter in town. Believe me, I've tried a few.
