You need to find out how good the food is here. It's named Tower TACOS and that may be a mistake because it is so much more. Last Saturday I was coaxed into exploring Cherokee St. for the first time and stumbled (almost literally) on to Tower Tacos. Because of the name we had their steak tacos and their pork tacos and split a quesadillas. The quesadillas comes out looking pretty plain but is excellent with a more flavorful mixture of cheeses . The tacos are kept quite simple as far as ingredients go, because it would detract from the quality of flavors. Steak Taco "Great"! Pork Taco "OMG" There is a large assortment of seafood combinations on the menu, just ask they are very proud of the quality of the seafood dishes and I found out why tonight. Shrimp Diablo tonight, not the biggest shrimp but alot of them in a spicy sauce. Excellent flavor and the shrimp is done to perfection. OH yeah great prices on their food as well. Three trips in 1 week ! This is a restaurant run by a husband and wife team that deserves to be supported. You want quality mexican you need to go here!!!

This brand new restaurant reminds me of why i first stopped in a taco joint on cherokee. No frills authentic mexican food. Many of the areas "authentic" mexican restaurants have seemed to water down the authenticity for the sake of their patronage with hip white kids. The first thing to go was the salsa. Several years ago it seemed that smoky spicy handmade salsa all but disappeared from cherokee's taco scene; being replaced with a bland ketchupy substitute that any mexican will tell you is not "salsa". At chapparritos, the first thing you encounter is a hot basket of chips and two varieties of excellent salsa ( roja y verde ) prepared by the chef/owner himself. It may seem silly to write a review based on the basket of free chips brought by your server before the meal; but any restaurant that puts care and attention to detail like this into a free appetizer, should make you confident that this skillful chef will work for your money and leave you satisfied with anything on the menu. Authentic inexpensive quality fast. This is what you've been longing for in a cherokee taco joint.
I've been to this place a couple of times, once for lunch and once for dinner. I really like their business model. They offer mexican food made with all fresh ingredients. The prices are very reasonable and chips and salsa are free, like most other Mexican or southwest places in town. The difference at La Salsa is that they have a salsa bar with many different types of salsa and it's self serve. It's a nice change of pace to try different salsa's while you wait for your food. Both times I've been there, the food was very good and it was presented very nicely as well. The fish tacos are very good! They also have a bar and TVs for a happy hour atmosphere, but it's not a huge place, so it can get somewhat loud when it's busy. Give it a try and see what you think...
Stopped here last weekend after taking a wrong turn while famished. We were very pleasantly surprised by the high quality of homemade food we received. The enchiladas came with lots of meat and a red sauce, not drowning in cheese as in so many places, tasty rice and enough meat that I was full after two and had to take some home. My husband had tamales which had a choice of red or green sauce and which were served in the wrappings. Great homemade quality and taste. The restaurant itself is very casual and nothing fancy. All the family members seem to work there in some capacity and were all anxious to make sure we were happy with our food. An excellent experience, one to repeat by choice and not accident. Just don't expect fancy or even cute. Go for the food.
The food is awesome! I reccommend the diablo chimichanga, the garlic wings, the guacamole, and just about everything else on the menu. The specials are crazy! Half price appetizers M-F 4-6 and $4 dollar grande margaritas. Today we had guacamole dip, 2 orders of garlic wings, a pulled pork quesadilla, a burger with fries, a grande margarita, and a soda for only $25! The staff is super nice and great with food reccommendations. I absolutely love the food and it is easy on the wallet! Did I mention they have a full bar, 6 flat screen TVs, a jukebox, and a dart board. I will be back!
F*#%*!< delicious - craving something quick affordable and fresh? Healthy and you will feel good about putting this in your body I promise you that- me and my dude checked it out and now it's a fav. When he wants McDonald's to keep lunch under 5 bucks I know I can grab a 4$ Chk taco salad that'll fill me up and make my body scream thank you! I was desperately in need of the fresh nutrients you just fed me- real talk this is my new fav. Local joint- and the ppl are pretty hip- not hipster but groovy it seems they care a lot about their product- yey!
We have been coming to Hacienda for years. We winter in Tucson and eat plenty of good Mexican food there but Hacienda can hold it's own with any restaurant in Tucson. I get the Nacho Salad with the house dressing on the side and my husband gets the Mexican pizza. Both are excellent. Go before the drinking crowd arrives and parking is not an issue! The chips are Iight, fresh and crispy. They have a chunky salsa that you may have to request...but we preper it to the regular one. This restaurant is a winner!
For the after dinner crowd this place is prime. The service is great. The people are friendly. The atmosphere is laid back. And everyone there is out to have fun... so there'll never be a dull moment. My husband an I have a great time every time we go... it's a lot better than the sedentary highschool reunion you get when you go to blarney stone. This is hands down so.co's hot new neighborhood bar.
We just visited this place a few days ago and what a nice atmosphere it has. You can enjoy your margaritas inside or out in the beautiful patio. Also expect to have the Mariachis stop by your table and sing to you. Overall, food was excellent and comes out fast. The margaritas are one the best in town! The prices were just right and they really make you feel at home. Don't miss out.
Really good food and margaritas! We ate at Latitude 26 last night and all agreed that the food is fresh and very good. It is a somewhat different from most mexican restuarants and we liked that aspect. The beef fajitas are amazing. The brisket tacos are also tasty. We also liked the chips and salsa and guacamole. Home made margaritas were so good! Good place. Highly recommend.
