The staff at Gateway are amazing! So caring and loving! We appreciate all you do. A special thank you to Dr. Vlakancic for her medical skills, caring, loving and responsiveness! She is an amazing Dr who has taken great care of our dogs! Thank you and a special thank you to the clinic for setting up the protocals you have during these difficult times. Gateway staff are ALL incredible people, very loving toward animals and very patient with upset/nervous pet parents! I've had nothing but incredible interaction, my dog and I are both treated with the utmost respect, and I fully trust putting my fur baby's health in their hands. I've never been rushed, and they're very patient about answering any and all questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gateway, and will continue to make the trip even after I move!!!!!

Great docs and staff! Been with them for ten years now and still so very happy with the care and dedication of all. Our dogs feel comfortable and at ease with the vets and caretakers. Each vet we have worked with is completely involved in our dog's best health solution in a compassionate interactive way. They are always up to date on the best and least invasive way to treat our pups when possible. I always leave feeling our pups received the most humane and kind care possible. Also, their rates are very fair. I have called around to price others and do so every few years. Gateway is number #1 for us on all levels. On another note, I read the review by one customer about the late billing. I can't imagine asking for a discount because the final bill didn't reflect a lab. I would have known a lab would be run because the Vet always tells me in detail what is going to be done. Customers are always given a detailed billing. Anger doesn't equal discount. Anger is not a compassionate way of looking at things, it hazes up our looking glass.

I have found our vet at Gateway to be very caring and understanding. They have always taken excellent care of my pets and been very considerate. They do not rush into expensive procedures and always discuss all options with us before doing anything. I have been using this clinic for 15 years and can't imagine going anywhere else. I have also found their heartworm medicine to be cheaper than the online sites.

Wonderful, Caring, service centered around YOUR pet!

I found Gateway after experiencing a less than appealing "assembly line" service at another vet clinic in St. Charles that was outrageously expensive. Gateway is wonderful and I completely understand why it was ranked as "one of the best" Vet clinics in the Kane County Chronicle. The veterinarians are extremely caring and gentle and provide very individual service. Helpful and patient with you and your pet. I believe it is an independent outfit - not owned by some mgt. company - the veterinarians there own the clinic I believe! They have a vested interest in providing top notch care at a great value. I'm so glad I found Gateway! Thanks!

Billing Issues

Gateway billing is not the greatest. I had our pet in for checkup and paid the bill in full at time of service.

A month and a half later I received a bill for a test that was done that they failed to add to my original bill.



I called and the Manager would not give us any kind of discount whatsoever, knowing it was a huge error to begin with.

Even if they discounted a dollar or two would have helped. But the Manager (DIane) said that she will not give me a discount.



Poor billing procedure. Also when I called, I initially explained to the receptionist that anwered and she said that I am not the first one to call about a billing issue. She stated that it must be a glitch somewhere. I think that they have a very poor billing clerk. There are no check or double check practices when it comes to billing. So when you leave and have paid your bill that any fault of theirs you will not pay.

We certainly understand that receiving a second invoice regarding a service that was not on the original bill is a surprise, we regret that you have been upset by this process. While we are almost always able to include the complete expenses on an origianl invoice, it is possible, although rarely, that an invoice for lab work, or other secondary service(s), is not brought to our attention until after the time of check out. If we are not able to get in touch with the client, an itemized invoice will be sent out immediately and then a bill will be sent at the end of the month. Unfortuneately, we can not provide discounts for a service that was not billed initially. If you feel you were charged for a service or services that was or were not provided, then please inform us and we could look to dicount or deduct charges on an invoice for that type of an error. Although we were not able to provide you with a discount in that instance, we appreciate hearing your comments. Comments such as yours will help shape how we conduct business in the future. We value your feedback as we value you and your pet(s) as customers. Again, thank you for sharing your situation with us so we can continue to improve our billing processes.
