Established in 1978, WEAVE is a private, nonprofit organization that serves domestic violence victims and their families in Sacramento County in California. It also provides services to victims of sexual assault. WEAVE offers individual and group counseling for victims. It also provides counseling services to children and adolescents. WEAVE s department for female victims of domestic violence provides safe environment for discussion and the tools necessary to improve self-esteem, self-determination and safety. It provides a 24-hour crisis line for immediate assistance. Its Safehouse, an emergency shelter, is a 35-bed facility for underprivileged women and their children. It has a domestic violence response team program works to investigate domestic violence cases and provide assistance to domestic violence victims. WEAVE is located in Sacramento, Calif.
