University of Beer - Sacramento

You have to have the Beer Battered Bacon, it is the most amazing appetizer I have ever had. Fabulous food, beer and atmosphere!

This place has a fun vibe to it with friendly staff. There are plenty of beers to choose from and something for everyone!

Went there as part of the bike brew and it was awesome. The variety of flights was great and I look for are to going back with my dog for puppy hour! The cheese balls are delicious!

As I was walking down 16th Street, I stopped in and decided to look at their menu.



The surprise that I was asked if I wanted an OPEN ticket or a CLOSED ticket got me off balance. I asked the young lady and she said that people have walked out without paying many times. I have not experienced this tactic of getting the money up front first without having the food brought to you yet!



The small container in the tray was blue cheese for dipping. After a few fries I asked one of the men behind the bar if he would provide some more of this dipping stuff because it did not taste exactly like blue cheese flavor. It was watery and did not stick to the french fries. Like Ranch Dressing does.



After a few minutes, he returned and stated it is indeed Blue Cheese flavor and that he would have to charge me.



This is the epitome of greed. To charge for a condiment is unheard of! I forgot to give them a dime for the toothpick I used for my teeth.



VERY BAD MANAGEMENT & RECOMMENDATION!!

You just can't go wrong with this place. If you are a craft beer lover then this is the place for you. 100 beers on tap, always changing to make sure there is something for everyone's palette. They offer flights so you can try a few, you can sample before you order and there is an ice rail that runs the entire bar, to keep your drinks ice cold.

With 100 beers on tap, you're bound to find your favorite, and the staff is quick to help offer suggestions. Great if you want to watch a game and have a quick bite. Terrible parking, but if you get lucky and find a space, uber or hop off the Sacbrew Bike, you're good to go.
