Dr. Chofla advocates exclusively only for compassionate, ethical, patient-centered medicines and therapies. He is the founding visionary for the premium private practice organization, Empathy Therapy, and dedicates his additional time to perform patient facility visits in various county nonprofit organizations in Sacramento, Yolo, Stanislaus, Fresno, Alameda and Los Angeles counties. Dr. Chofla is a strong believer that empathy and therapy must also be extended to communities of most need.
After receiving his degree in neurobiology, physiology and behavior from the University of California at Davis, Dr. Chofla completed medical school at Midwestern University: Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his psychiatry specialty residency training at the Los Angeles County General Hospital and the University of Southern California Medical Center. As a previous medical director, chief of inpatient county psychiatric services, and professor for the UC Davis Residency and Medical School Behavioral Sciences department, Dr. Chofla repeatedly demonstrates leadership excellence.
