With over 17 years of counseling experience, Dr. Chofla founded Empathy Therapy to provide psychiatric treatment and executive coaching in an innovative manner. Recognizing the limitations in current mental health organizations, Dr. Chofla is committed to providing excellence in mental health beyond the current standard of care. While under his care, you can expect a premium level of medication treatment and counseling with a world-class emphasis on service. He is also the first and only psychiatrist in California to specialize in concierge care and executive coaching. Dr. Chofla advocates exclusively only for compassionate, ethical, patient-centered medicines and therapies. He is the founding visionary for the premium private practice organization, Empathy Therapy, and dedicates his additional time to perform patient facility visits in various county nonprofit organizations in Sacramento, Yolo, Stanislaus, Fresno, Alameda and Los Angeles counties. Dr. Chofla is a strong believer that empathy and therapy must also be extended to communities of most need.After receiving his degree in neurobiology, physiology and behavior from the University of California at Davis, Dr. Chofla completed medical school at Midwestern University: Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his psychiatry specialty residency training at the Los Angeles County General Hospital and the University of Southern California Medical Center. As a previous medical director, chief of inpatient county psychiatric services, and professor for the UC Davis Residency and Medical School Behavioral Sciences department, Dr. Chofla repeatedly demonstrates leadership excellence.
