Such a fun place to escape for a quick overnight away from the kids. Steps away from several great restaurants and always fun things going on in Old Sacramento. Rooms are small, but comfy and reasonable.

We stayed on the Delta for two nights.
We have never experienced such a bad mattress and we travel a lot. They were probably as old as the original ship!!! Would never return for that reason, talked to some fellow passengers and they said the same...so it wan't just our bed.
Besides the view this place was not good.. Our waitress was good but the food was horrible.. My husbands New York steak was fatty and my Cajun liquine was so dry.. Drinks were small but for $8 guess you can't ask for too much... I would not eat here again..

We regularly dine at the Delta King restaurant and have great food and experiences, but on our last visit we were so disturbed by the food that we thought a clarification needed to be made between the Delta King's Pilothouse restaurant and the Murder Mystery Theater boxed food. The Pilothouse restaurant is wonderful, never had a bad meal there at all, but the Delta King promotes and has a Murder Mystery dinner on-board and it is billed as such with great Delta King food. Save your money now! Not one person at our tables of 20 could finish their meal, and I could only take 2 bites. I watched people at the table behind us send their food back it was so bad. This was absolutely NOT Delta King food, but had to be Stouffer's and heated in a microwave. Management actually had the gall to say that they have never received a complaint, I'll encourage you to dine in your own restaurant, Pilothouse, and then walk downstairs into the kitchen for the theater and sample a plate. You will be awfully surprised and what you experience. It is clear that the majority of the money is going to the actors of the theater and the crumbs are being spent on the food. You would be wise to NOT bill this event as providing Delta King quality food in the future.

I often come to Sacramento with my wife, and we decided this time to stay at the Delta King. We have been here before for dinner, and back then it was nice. The staff was horrible, and treated us like we werent paying customers. We asked for a room on the water side, and when we got there they gave us a room on the other side. They refused to change our room. Also, we decided to dine in the Pilothouse, and I can tell they have changed management once again. The gentlemen who was there before was a very nice French man, we were told that he is no longer there, and it shows. We have decided to take our stay and our dining experience else where next time we come to Sacramento.
We have been down to stay at the Delta King a few times now. It is a wonderful, romantic place to stay and dine. From the front desk, to the Pilot House, the service is exceptional! If you live close, take the short drive down and stay a night or two and if you are coming from far away, what a wonderful place to stay and shop. Please don't miss the opportunity to enjoy yourselves!
We stayed there, had dinner in the wonderful Pilothouse Restaurant the first night. Our friends had a party in a banquet room the next night. The hotel room was not big but cute. Fun to think we were staying aboard an 80-year old boat.
Food at the banquet was great too. Service was excellent all around.

My husband and I have been to the Pilothouse Restaurant on board the Delta King 6 or 7 times in the past 10 months. We like it more every time we go. This weekend we got a larger group together to go there for a holiday dinner. Everyone raved about it and couldn't believe they'd been missing it all this time. Our waiter, Michael, was knowledgeable, friendly, and always there when we wanted him. We all loved our dinner and the grand old Delta King was beautiful. This is really a good spot and worth going to Old Sacramento for!

This was the first time I went to this restaurant. It was a very special occassion, a Graduation. Their service was not good at all. I made reservations. When we walked in to check in we were not acknowledge by anyone. I stood in front of the person that was ckecking in everyone and it took her about two minutes to even look at us. We ordered our drinks and our wine did not arrive until right before our meal. The waiter came and apologized for forgetting about us. I would not go back.

A few years ago I went to the Murder Mystery Dinner they have and the food was below what I typically see as conference-style dining. I chalked it up to the mass production but the food does come from the same kitchen as the Pilothouse.
Last year I went to the restaurant and a play for my birthday. The steak salad I had was wilted and the dressing was heavy and overpowering. I asked for medium rare on the steak and it was almost bloody. We had creme brulee for dessert and either the eggs were bad or the chef did not temper the cream and eggs properly. When we pointed this out to the waitress she acted as if we were crazy.
I don't think I will chance another visit to the Delta King for meals...for theatre or drinks, yes, but I will avoid the food!
