I eat at dickeys 3 times a week. They have amazing sides but the customer service from the manager Stephanie is very poor. She always has an attitude and never smiles. After paying for my food she places a bag of food in front of me, I assumed it was mine and walked out. She chased after me and yelled at me saying "that's not even your food!" If it wasn't my food, why place it in front of me immediately after I make my payment? After coming back inside and returning the order I patiently waited for my correct order. She threw it on the counter without a bag. I stood there and waited patiently assuming she saw me standing in front of her. She ignored me for too long. She finally looked up she said, "what did u need?" In a very rude manner. I replied saying , "l would like a bag for my to-go order". Clearly irritated she puts a bag on the counter. I expected for her to put my to go order inside of the bag. She didn't. Poor customer service on managements end.
It's all about the brisket! I got the chopped brisket sandwhich, lean (ask for "lean", less fat) and it was awsome! JR is a bbq master with the mesquite wood he uses. Most bbqers don't use it because they don't know how to. I really didn't need to add much bbq sauce since the smoke penetration into the meat matched with the rub he uses is pure perfection. However, I did use some sauce because it to is so good and also complemets the fries as a dipping sauce. The sandwhich was huge and well worth the money!
Texas West has delicious barbecue meats for meals, sandwiches, and side dishes. Their food is reasonably priced and the service is speedy. We regularly met with a group of friends for an outing to the Roseville location before it closed. We don't get the Texas West as often as we once did because it is no longer close to home, but still eat there whenever we are anywhere near their current location. If you like barbecued meats, you can't go wrong.
