Nutritional Services are services provided by a patient’s doctor and possibly a dietitian to help create healthy and wholesome nutrition for the patient. Services provided include education and counseling about weight management and healthy eating as well as eating disorders and preventative nutrition
Nutritional Counseling
The Food & Nutrition Services at SMRMC provide medical nutrition therapy for inpatients and outpatients through registered, licensed dietitians. Comprehensive nutritional care for all admitted patients may include nutritional screening, assessments, diet instructions and/or nutritional intervention as needed. Outpatients may receive diet instructions from the dietitian upon referral by the patient’s physician.
Pediatric Care
At Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, you will receive personalized care from our highly, experienced staff. The nurses and staff of the Women’s Services unit have experience in caring for surgical, chronic and acute care GYN patients. All nurses and clinical staff are certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and the Neonatal Resuscitation Program® (NRP). The Women’s Services unit is designed for both gynecology and obstetric patients as well as antepartum, postpartum patients, and pediatrics.

Some Otolaryngologists also do certain cosmetic procedures for appearance improvement.

The Sleep Center at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center specializes in helping patients who may have sleep disorders. The center is designed to be as comfortable as possible for patients who stay overnight so a sleep technician can monitor their sleep habits and record information for physicians to review for follow-up treatment and recommendations.
Emergency Care
After hours exam are performed on an emergency basis through the Emergency Department. These exams include, Ectopic pregnancies, Testicular torsion, Pregnancy with heavy bleeding, and Ovarian torsion/TOA. All OB exams must have BETA HCG completed before the tech is called in. All 1st trimester OB and Pelvis exams must have a full bladder or a Foley Catheter in place.
Colonoscopy
Endoscopies involve a sedative to increase the comfort level. You will awaken from the procedure within an hour, but precautions must be taken to have a driver available for a 24 hour period due to lingering sedation effects.Contact your family physician to talk further about the procedure and when it is appropriate to have a screening colonoscopy.
